Using Botox to rejuvenate the neck and décolleté

Over the years, each person gradually ages, and against the background of this, his skin begins to deform. Fine and deep wrinkles appear, elasticity and firmness decrease. The neck, like the condition of the hands, as is known, immediately reveals a woman’s age. Over the years, hypertonicity of muscle fibers can develop in the décolleté, neck and face area, leading to the formation of creases that visually add several extra years to their bearer. How to deal with this?

Modern cosmetology offers a wide range of anti-aging procedures that help slow down or remove signs of such age-related changes and other aesthetic defects on the skin. Botox has been particularly popular for many years, used in particular to improve the appearance of the neck.

Botox and mesobotox - what is the difference?

Before we start talking about mesobotox, it is important for us to understand that all medical botulinum toxin preparations - Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin - are powder . In colloquial speech they have long been called one common word “Botox”.

Difference 1.

Before the procedure, the powder is carefully diluted with so-called saline solution at the rate of 1 bottle of 100 units per 2 - 2.5 ml of saline solution.

The dilution of the drug for the mesobotox procedure is made at the rate of 1 bottle per 10 ml of saline solution, and compared to the Botox solution it is 5 times less concentrated.

Difference 2.

Classic Botox is injected directly into the muscle - that is, quite deeply. To achieve the effect of the drug exclusively in the injection area and to avoid its migration, Botox is administered pointwise, in small doses.

Botox injection schedule

The toxin disrupts the transmission of impulses along nerve fibers. As a result, some muscles relax, others contract.

Mesobotox is a procedure for multiple injections of small doses of a toxin. The technique is reminiscent of mesotherapy - the drug is injected not into the muscle, but into the skin, or rather, into the dermis.

Mesobotox administration scheme

Duration and price of the course

The number of sessions is discussed with the cosmetologist in advance. If the wrinkles are not deep, one or two procedures will be enough. The amount of Botox is also determined by a specialist and is 20-55 units, depending on the degree of the problem. The price depends on this indicator. One unit of Botox costs 300-400 rubles.

The breakdown products of botulinum toxin are eliminated from the body in 10-14 days. If necessary, the procedure is repeated with fewer units of Botox. But you should not resort to injections often. The drug is addictive, so it is optimal to use it 1-2 times a year, alternating with other methods.

How does mesobotox for the face work if it is injected into the skin?

Initially, botulinum toxin was developed to affect muscles - to smooth out wrinkles from excess emotions and stress. After administration of the drug, the muscles relax and stop gathering the skin into folds. Wrinkles on the forehead, nose, between the eyebrows and crow's feet around the eyes are smoothed out.

But everyone knows that there is no muscle layer in the dermis - why do you need to inject Botox there?

The dermis is the second layer of skin, which is located between the epidermis and subcutaneous fat.

Absolutely right, there is no skeletal muscle in the dermis. But it turns out that the dermis is also rich in muscles - the so-called skin muscles.

The muscle fibers in the dermis are very small. But they also contract and relax - they cause the effect of goose bumps in the cold, are responsible for the liveliness of facial expressions and, alas, for the formation of a fine network of wrinkles.

Due to their small size, these fibers respond well to injections of low doses of botulinum toxin - mesobotox.

Preparation

Botox injections in the neck are carried out provided that the patient is completely healthy and feels well. The procedure requires simple preparation. A week before the manipulations, it is necessary to exclude from the diet salty, spicy, fatty foods that contribute to the formation of edema. In 2–3 days, you need to completely give up alcohol, limit physical activity, stop taking hormones, antibiotics and other medications prescribed by your doctor.

Immediately before administering botulinum toxin, the cosmetologist conducts a thorough examination of the problem area, assessing:

  • type of wrinkles and the specifics of their location;
  • Tugor;
  • anatomical features.

Mesobotox under the eyes and not only under the eyes

In skillful hands, the technique is very effective against superficial wrinkles: “crow’s feet” in the corners of the eyes, against wrinkles on the forehead, above the eyebrows, on the chin and cheeks, in the décolleté, against sagging necks and purse-string wrinkles around the lips.

The procedure helps against sagging skin on the abdomen, knees, forearms and for rejuvenating the hands.

Action of Botox

Botox is an American drug containing a weakened, pre-purified complex neurotoxin botulinum toxin, type A.

The unusual properties of this substance were discovered by American scientists back in 1982 during clinical trials to develop a drug for the treatment of eye diseases. As a side effect of the use of this medication, doctors noted the smoothing of transverse wrinkles in the forehead.

Botulinum toxin is a strong toxic substance with a high level of toxicity. It can have a negative impact on human health, but its use in minimal quantities gives an unsurpassed cosmetic effect.

When Botox is injected into the neck or décolleté, it penetrates the structure of the muscle tissue, has a paralyzing effect on them and smoothes out all the folds and wrinkles that appear on the skin. The toxin is removed from the human body after 6-8 months.

Anti-aging procedures using Botox have been carried out for many years, which directly proves its high level of effectiveness. Previously, this substance was used to treat muscle pathologies and treat cerebral palsy in children. Nowadays, botulinum toxin is more often used by cosmetologists to correct age-related changes in the skin.

How does skin change after mesobotox?

Mesobotox leads to a noticeable disappearance of sagging: the skin is smoothed, tightened, and becomes elastic. The second very pleasant effect after the introduction of mesobotox is the effect of fullness, which enhances the result of the procedure.

Expert comment:

“Mesobotox is injected only into the dermis, where the muscle cells of the skin are located, and relaxes them. Since the skeletal muscles are not affected in any way, natural facial expressions are completely preserved .

This property of the procedure is especially appreciated by those whose appearance directly affects their professional success - actors, TV presenters, models, politicians and business coaches... People in public professions by occupation should have a fresh and expressive face without the effect of a frozen mask, which can often be obtained after classic Botox injection technique.

The effect of the procedure appears within 2–4 days and lasts from 6 to 8 months.”

Maxim Vasiliev, plastic surgeon.

How is the procedure done?

Botulinum therapy for the neck includes the following steps:

  1. Makeup removal and skin disinfection with an antiseptic solution.
  2. Applying anesthetic cream or gel.
  3. Marking injection points. Injections are given in 2 rows. The distance between them should not exceed 2 cm.
  4. Introduction of botulinum toxin. The drug is injected into the main muscle, the direction of the injections is along the muscle cord.
  5. Applying a soothing, cooling gel.

The procedure lasts on average 10 – 15 minutes. After botulinum therapy, the patient is under medical supervision for 1.5 - 2 hours. If no complications arise during this time, you can go home and do your usual activities.

Technique 1. Rejuvenation squared

Enhancing the effect of mesobotx with the help of biorevitalizants. These are hyaluronic acid preparations that moisturize the skin and maintain its water balance for a long time.

Consecutive administration of drugs within one procedure gives an amazing effect. Mesobotox smoothes the skin, improves its structure, and hyaluronic acid gives firmness, elasticity, and freshness.

Acting together, these components work like two catalysts, enhancing and prolonging each other's effects.

Other methods of neck rejuvenation

Cosmetology centers offer other methods for rejuvenating the skin of the neck. These include:

  • injections of Xeomin, Dysport;
  • filler injections;
  • mesotherapy;
  • thread lifting;
  • biorevitalization;
  • plasma lifting;
  • myostimulation;
  • ELOS-rejuvenation.

If aesthetic defects are severe, cosmetologists recommend combining procedures. Botox reduces muscle activity, and hyaluronic acid fillers fill and smooth out deep wrinkles.

Technique 2. Swan neck

The neck is a very difficult area to correct. Mesobotox is perhaps the only remedy that allows you to keep the vagaries of the neck under control.

Neck mesobotox shows good results in combination with classic Botox injections. Mesobotox smoothes out fine wrinkles, removes sagging and tightens the skin. We inject classic Botox into tense areas of the neck muscles and relax them. This is how we eliminate vertical bands of the neck - unsightly vertical areas of excess tension.

The neck is smoothed without surgery.

Reviews

Maria, 37 years old, Voronezh

“I tried to remove platysma on my neck with Botox. For the first three days, my neck and chin felt slightly tight and numb. I did not observe any other side effects. A week later the effect appeared - the cords completely disappeared. I plan to continue taking injections.”

Alla, 42 years old, Moscow

“I did the injections three times, and I’m always happy with the results. During the first session I encountered a side effect – swelling. The cosmetologist gave advice - apply a compress of grated potatoes to it. After 2 days the problem went away and the wrinkles smoothed out as usual.”

Technique 3. Botox microinjections

This technique is based on the administration of microdoses of Botox.

Micro Botox is injected deep into the muscles, but using a special technique. Knowing the anatomy of the face perfectly, a plastic surgeon can work wonders, masterfully playing with the doses of the drug and the degree of muscle relaxation.

Microinjections of Botox into the masticatory muscles relax them and thin out facial features, making it more graceful and feminine. The procedure eliminates trismus (clenching of the jaw) and reduces the load on the mandibular joint. The result is getting rid of wrinkles, a lifting effect, narrowing the face by relieving tension from the lower jaw. The oval of the face becomes clear and feminine.

The same technique is used to lift the ends of the eyebrows and corners of the lips.

Expert comment:

“Rosa Syabitova in the photo below received a liquid facelift (injection facelift). The technique involves the simultaneous administration of combined fillers and botulinum toxin.

A significant advantage of mesobotox is that we get all the above effects without surgery and without incisions. The entire rehabilitation after the procedure takes no more than 2 hours.

I perform the procedure using very thin 33 G needles. They are not felt by skin receptors, so anesthesia is not required.”
