From this article you will learn:
- lip augmentation techniques – video, before and after photos,
- how to achieve eversion of the upper lip,
- choice of drugs,
- how much does lip augmentation cost in Moscow and St. Petersburg?
Not all people can boast of full, well-defined lips, but in addition to anatomical features, age-related changes also play a large role in this. The fact is that with age, the width and volume of the lips tend to gradually decrease, which is due to a decrease in the volume of muscle tissue and subcutaneous fat in them. Smoking and exposure to sunlight also have a significant impact on the severity of these processes.
In addition, age-related atrophy of the bone tissue of the upper jaw, which occurs with the early removal of the front teeth, also affects the decrease in the expression of the lips. Before the advent of hyaluronic acid fillers, it was possible to increase lip volume mainly only through surgical plastic surgery (although in some cases it is still relevant). But today the simplest, most effective and safest method of lip augmentation is injections of gel based on “stabilized” hyaluronic acid, i.e. filler.
Lip augmentation: before and after photos
The same patient (lateral view) –
The patient in the photos above had 2.0 ml of Hyalax Light filler used. The work was carried out by Dr. Kamenskikh K.V. (author of the article). The choice of material was dictated by the budget, because... Hyalax is still difficult to work with and is not very suitable for working with the lip contour, but the result speaks for itself and it seems to us that the lips look not only attractive, but also natural.
Another clinical case (before and after photos) –
This work was also done by the author of the article (1.1 ml of the budget filler “Dermalax DEEP Plus” was used). The eversion of the upper lip was done using the “Parisian lips” technique, while the volume of the lower lip was increased using the fan technique. The patient was very pleased that after the correction her lips looked natural.
The essence of the procedure
Mesotherapy is a cosmetic procedure in which biologically active substances are introduced into the middle layers of the skin. Cells are enriched with vitamins, microelements, peptides, minerals, etc.
There are injection and non-invasive (hardware) mesotherapy. In the first case, thin short needles 0.3 mm long are used to administer drugs. In the second, it is applied to the skin. Under the influence of the device, it penetrates deep. Electroporation is used for lips. The effect of it is not as pronounced as with injection, since the drugs penetrate to a shallower depth.
Popular techniques
Injections during mesotherapy are administered using the following techniques.
Classic (prick by prick)
The classical technique (mesopuncture) involves inserting a needle at a right angle, reaching the reticular layer of the dermis - to a depth of 4 mm. Each microdose is 0.01–0.02 ml of the administered drug. The distance between punctures is from 1.5 to 2 cm. The depth and dosage of injections is calculated depending on the patient’s treated area and the condition of the skin.
Advantages: easy to implement, effective.
Disadvantages: If administered incorrectly, bruising may occur.
Bolus
When it is necessary to achieve a high concentration of filler in one place, the bolus technique is used. The technique is used to reduce fat deposits, treat the scalp and for facial correction. It is recommended to point the needle with the bevel down to minimize the loss of the drug. The injection is administered into the deep layers - on the periosteum or under the orbicularis oculi muscle.
Advantages: allows you to achieve quick results. A few punctures are made.
Disadvantages: The bolus technique is very painful and requires high professionalism, as there is a risk of getting into the arteries.
Cannula (one-puncture technique)
Fillers are injected using a cannula, a long flexible needle with a blunt end. The technique is a low-traumatic method, since during the process one puncture is made, and then the cannula under the skin is positioned in the desired direction and the drug is injected through it.
In this case, the tissues are not damaged, as is the case with a needle, but simply move apart. The length of the cannula is selected depending on the insertion zone and ranges from 1.5–2 inches. As a rule, the drug is administered using a linear or fan technique.
Advantages: a low-traumatic and safe method that allows you to make a minimum of punctures, and after the procedure the appearance of bruises, bruises, etc. is unlikely.
Also, the cannula technique is considered more advanced than the classical one, since the cannula can be inserted into hard-to-reach places where inserting a needle is fraught with complications - the temporal region, the area in the corners of the eyes, etc.
Nappage
The injection technique occurs using one of the subtypes of nappage:
- superficial;
- middle;
- deep.
Surface
It is used to rejuvenate and improve the skin of the face, neck, hair follicles and décolleté. Fillers are introduced through massage lines. The puncture depth is less than 0.5 mm, since the mesococktail is injected into the uppermost subcutaneous layer. The needle used is a mesotherapy needle - 4 mm and when inserted, it must be kept with the cut facing upward. The inclination of the needle does not play a decisive role and can be in the range from 30 to 90 degrees. The filler is injected 1/3–2/3 from its cut. The distance between each injection is uniform and amounts to 0.5–1 cm.
The correct injection technique consists not only of uniform punctures, but also of the appearance of droplets of filler on the surface of the skin like dew. There should be no blood, since with superficial nappage the papillary layer of the epidermis is not affected. Any preparations in this technique are allowed, with the exception of gel-like fillers.
Attention! It is also worth considering that during the procedure, most of the filler remains on the surface of the skin - up to 50%. Therefore, cosmetologists do not recommend immediately wiping off the protruding drops, giving them the opportunity to absorb a little more into the subcutaneous layer.
Average
This filler injection technique affects the papillary or reticular layer of the dermis. As the procedure progresses, blood vessels may be affected, so the appearance of droplets of blood during the procedure is allowed. Medium nappage is used to eliminate the following problems:
- vascular diseases of the body and face;
- atrophic scars;
- hair follicle treatment.
The needle should be directed upward when inserted. The angle of the needle placement is important during facial mesotherapy - it should be inclined at 45 degrees. Punctures are made to a depth of 1–1.5 mm. The intervals between punctures are from 1 to 2 cm.
Deep nappage (infiltration)
Using this mesotherapy technique, fat deposits are corrected and cellulite is treated. A longer needle is used - 13 mm, since it is important to insert it to a depth of the subcutaneous layer of at least 10 mm in order to reach the fatty tissue. When piercing, the needle should be held at a right angle. Among the drugs used for infiltration, lipolytics are used.
The advantages of nappage are that it gives:
- quick results;
- lifting effect;
- a large area is covered;
- does not require anesthesia.
The disadvantages include the following:
- a lot of punctures are done, so the procedure can be painful;
- excessive waste of medication.
Papular technique
During the procedure, a small “coin” with a diameter of the same size is formed at the puncture site - a papule. In these papules, the filler lingers for several days after the procedure, so the effect of the drug is longer. Depending on the size of the papule, the technique is divided into two types.
Superficial papules (micropapules)
The technique is suitable for mesotherapy of areas with a small amount of subcutaneous fat: forehead, upper cheekbones, neck, décolleté, angles of the lower jaw, hands. The drug is injected to a depth of 1 to 2 mm with a needle located at an angle of 10–15 degrees with the cut up. In this case, you need to ensure that the diameter of the resulting papules is within 1.5–2 mm. Using this technique, you can use any meso cocktails.
Medium papules
It is advisable to create them for the treatment of blood vessels in the subcutaneous layers and scalp. When inserted, the needle should be tilted at an angle of 45 degrees. The drug itself must be delivered to a depth of 2 to 3 mm, creating papules with a diameter of 2–4 mm.
The advantages of the technology include:
- by preserving the filler in the papules, a longer therapeutic effect is ensured;
- used on the face, scalp, body;
- does not require anesthesia.
Among the disadvantages, it can be noted that after the procedure bruises, swelling, and redness may appear.
Retrograde-linear technique
Used to eliminate:
- scars;
- striae;
- wrinkles
As a rule, when performing the retrograde-linear technique, fillers with a gel-like consistency are injected.
The work uses a 12 mm long needle, which is directed with the cut upward and moves in the subcutaneous layer at a depth of 2–3 mm parallel to the skin, forming a linear channel. It is through this channel that the drug is injected at the exit of the needle - retrograde. There are several types of retrograde linear technique.
Tracer
The needle works at a depth of about 2 mm, forming clear linear channels.
Fan
One puncture is made, and then the needle moves under the skin in different directions, distributing the drug in several places at a time - “draws” something like a fan.
Tunnel
The needle moves back and forth. The technique is used to fill various tissue defects with medium wrinkles and severe scars.
Mesh (reinforcement)
It is used to create volume with drooping corners of the lips, correct cheekbones, cheeks, and eliminate crow's feet. As the drug is administered, a kind of mesh is formed: first, punctures are made so that parallel lines are formed, then, along the same zone, perpendicular lines are drawn to them.
The needle is inserted into the middle and deep subcutaneous layers, the distance between punctures is about 5–10 mm.
The linear-retrograde technique is good because:
- creates a lifting effect;
- smoothes out medium-depth wrinkles and scars, working through the deep subcutaneous layers.
The disadvantages of the technique include the following:
- You cannot use liquid meso-cocktails, only gel-type ones;
- not suitable for beginners, since to perform it you need to have sufficient experience in injection cosmetology;
- considered one of the most traumatic methods.
Technique of individual injections
Apply on the body. The needle is inserted to a depth of 4 mm. In this case, the cosmetologist clamps the problematic part of the patient’s skin into a fold and injects the drug there in a volume of 0.1 to 0.2 ml. A sign of correct execution: the needle is inserted quickly and the filler is inserted slowly.
There are also other mesotherapy techniques that are less popular, but also have their own specific implementation, which is better to know about.
Multipuncture
Used to stimulate wrinkles, smooth out the eyebrows, bridge of the nose, smooth out scars. Performed by creating many points that form a single line. The needle is inserted along the length of the fold or scar at an acute angle.
Parisian
Used to inject fillers into the lips for the purpose of correcting them, enlarging and eliminating facial wrinkles. The work uses a retrograde-linear technique, during which the red border of the lips is fixed.
Systematized point
It is performed according to the principle of reflexology - the drug is injected into the locations of active points on the body in the amount of 0.1–0.2 ml per puncture. The injection depth is 4 mm.
Scarification
The meso cocktail is distributed with a spatula over the entire surface of the problem area. It is then delivered to the subcutaneous layer using superficial needle pricks every 3–5 mm.
Using a mesoscooter
Mesotherapy is carried out using a special device - a mesoscooter. The nozzle of the device is a roller with many microneedles.
During the procedure, the selected drug is applied to the surface of the skin, and then you need to walk over this area with a mesoscooter. The needles of the device cause microtraumas and massage the dermis, resulting in the penetration of the meso-cocktail into the subcutaneous layer.
Also, the effectiveness of the technique is based on the creation of many microtraumas that activate natural regenerative processes in the epidermis.
Advantages and disadvantages
As a result of mesotherapy:
- lips become expressive and voluminous;
- the skin around the lips becomes more youthful and elastic.
An alternative to mesotherapy can be biorevitalization, Botox, bioreinforcement, etc.
Bioreinforcement corrects drooping corners, severe volume loss and other age-related changes. Botox is not done on the lips. It is used to reduce wrinkles above and around them. The effect of these procedures is more pronounced than after mesotherapy. Disadvantage: the face loses facial mobility. Showing emotions is difficult.
Biorevitalization is used to smooth out fine wrinkles and tone the skin. It is carried out from the age of 25-30, when the natural synthesis of hyaluronic acid decreases. Only preparations of unstabilized hyaluronic acid are used, while mesotherapy can use multi-component cocktails that solve several problems at once.
Biorevitalization is not carried out if there is a permanent gel at the injection sites, if there is a risk of developing fibrosis, lymph stagnation, etc. In these cases, it is possible to use mesotherapy using cocktails without hyaluronic acid.
The effect after biorevitalization occurs instantly and lasts 6-9 months. From mesotherapy it occurs towards the end of the course. The result is visible for up to a year.
How is the procedure done?
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia. There are two options for delivering hyaluronic acid to the lips - injection and laser.
The injection method is considered preferable and more effective, since it guarantees delivery of the drug to the necessary layers of the skin.
The laser method allows the drug to be delivered using a low-frequency laser radiation device. The procedure, as in the case of injections, lasts 30-40 minutes.
Before the procedure, the doctor removes makeup and disinfects the lip area. Injections are made with a very thin needle, and sometimes flexible cannulas are used to administer the drug. For the lip area, use a preparation with a volume of 0.5 - 0.6 ml. For a lasting long-term effect, it is recommended to carry out two to five procedures with a break of 2-3 weeks. The number of procedures and the interval between them, as well as the specific drug, is determined by the doctor, based on the condition of the patient’s skin, his age and task. At the end of the procedure, the doctor again disinfects the injection area and may massage it a little for better distribution of the drug.
When recommended
Lip mesotherapy is indicated:
- in case of insufficient volume;
- for correction of nasolabial folds;
- with an unclear outline;
- with a shortened or lengthened upper lip;
- to correct asymmetry;
- with heterogeneous relief around the mouth;
- to eliminate “purse-string” wrinkles and dryness.
Most often, problems arise as a result of age-related changes. Lip mesotherapy is chosen mainly by women over 30 years of age. The procedure can also be performed on young girls over 18 years of age who want to improve the condition and appearance of their lips.

Contraindications
The procedure is not carried out:
- for oncology;
- for skin diseases;
- for acute infectious lesions, acute diseases of the cardiovascular system, hypertension, epilepsy;
- for chronic renal failure, cholelithiasis;
- in case of blood clotting disorders;
- for inflammation of the lips, herpes, violation of the integrity of the skin (burns, wounds, etc.);
- if you are allergic to drug components.
It is undesirable to carry out mesotherapy during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Menstruation is considered a temporary contraindication.
Drugs
The main drug for lip mesotherapy is hyaluronic acid. However, depending on the problems being solved, complex cocktails are used, including vitamins, peptides, minerals, and other active substances.
Concentrates
They contain one component: hyaluronic acid, silicon, collagen, centella asiatica, vitamin C, etc. They are used as part of a complex or in their pure form.
To increase lip volume, hyaluronic acid is used, the production of which slows down with age. Dehydration and skin aging occurs. Its introduction increases firmness and elasticity, stimulates the work of one’s own cells. For example, Amaline hyaluronic acid preparations:
- Gamma (SOFT) - for smoothing out shallow wrinkles around the mouth and on the lips. Concentration of hyaluronic acid 20 mg/ml;
- Delta (MEDIUM) - to increase lip volume, correct nasolabial folds. Concentration - 20 mg/ml.
To increase volume and correct shape, Restylane Lipp biogel is used. It contains 2% non-animal origin hyaluronic acid stabilized using a special technology.
It is obtained by bacterial synthesis, which provides complete biological compatibility with human tissues and reduces the risk of allergic reactions.
Cocktails
There are:
- allopathic or medicinal. They may include mineral, plant, synthetic, and animal components. In the cocktail, allopaths complement each other, enhancing the positive effect;
- homeopathic - force the body to use its own forces to eliminate the problem.
For example, the line of drugs from the Dermaheal brand. The HSR complex mesococtail includes hyaluronic acid, vitamins, amino acids, antioxidants, nucleic acids, etc. Effectively fights fine wrinkles, rejuvenating the skin, increasing its elasticity.
In addition to branded ones, a cosmetologist can prepare a cocktail of monocomponents immediately before the procedure, taking into account the specifics of the problem.
Lip mesotherapy: the essence of the procedure
Mesotherapy is a way to simply and painlessly correct the shape of areas of the face, such as lips. This procedure uses hyaluronic acid - glycosaminoglycan, which is part of the cellular structures and connective tissues of the body. It is contained in the body of every person and is a natural substance.
Hyaluronic acid is widely used in cosmetology for various purposes:
- filling wrinkles;
- smoothing fabrics;
- enlargement of individual parts of the face.
The use of hyaluronic acid for lips
The essence of the lip mesotherapy procedure is the introduction of biologically active substances into the dermis, which fill it with vitamins and useful additives. They nourish the cells, thereby improving the contour and making them more elastic. Lip mesotherapy with hyaluronic acid is a common and affordable procedure that allows you to increase their volume and give them a beautiful shape without surgery.
Small needles are used for the injection procedure, making the enlargement process painless. The list of drugs for lip mesotherapy with hyaluronic acid is quite wide:
Juvederm | Available in two types - “Ultra 3” and “Ultra Smile”. It is evenly distributed in the dermis and has a long-lasting effect. Effect – up to 12 months
"Restylane Lipp" | It acts gently, is available in the form of biogel, and corrects the shape and volume. The effect lasts up to 6 months.
"Surgiderm 24 XP" | It contains an acid matrix network and lasts up to 8 months.
"Dermaheal" | The line of products includes hyaluronic acid, vitamins, antioxidants and nucleic acids.
"Amaline gamma SOFT" | To get rid of wrinkles around the mouth. The concentration of the active substance is 20 mg/ml.
"Amaline delta MEDIUM" | Suitable for adding fullness to lips and correcting wrinkles around them. The concentration of the substance is 20 mg/ml. |
All drugs undergo strict international certification.
There are also many cocktails that nourish lips and make them smoother:
- Mesopreparation “x.prof 010” – artichoke extract.
- Mesococktail “c.prof 212” is a strengthening cocktail.
- Mesopreparation “x.prof 108” – hyaluronic acid.
The selection of dosage and type of drug is always carried out by a doctor or cosmetologist. Lip augmentation using mesotherapy is the most modern and advanced way to create a beautiful smile.
We recommend reading about facial mesotherapy techniques. From the article you will learn about various options for administering meso-cocktails and the scheme for performing facial mesotherapy. And here is more information about the types of Dermahil products for mesotherapy.
Types of techniques
With the injection method, only the manual technique of individual injections is used. A drug with a volume of 0.01-0.2 ml is injected to a depth of 4 mm. The needle is injected quickly, the drug - slowly. A retrograde-linear technique can be used, when a channel is formed in the skin and filled with the drug while the needle is moving backwards.
Filling the contour with product
Used to reduce the depth of lip wrinkles and rejuvenate the skin.
French
Used to add volume and sensuality. Achieved by uniform distribution of the drug in different parts of the lips. The product should have a viscous consistency. There is no additional need to outline the contours.
The needling begins by moving 0.4-0.6 mm upward from the corner of the mouth. The skin is punctured in the direction of the oral opening. 0.02-0.03 ml of the drug is injected on the reverse stroke of the needle. The distance between punctures is 2-4 mm. The latter is done at a distance of 2-4 mm above the highest/lowest point of the lip.
Preparations for lip augmentation –
Below we have listed the main hyaluronic acid fillers that are most often used for lip augmentation. Below we have also indicated the purchase cost of the drugs, because there are strange situations when the final cost of the service is almost equal to the cost of the drug. This can only happen in one case - when a cosmetologist uses counterfeit drugs that do not have a certificate of conformity.
- Juvederm® Ultra Smile (instructions) is a very good filler, both for creating lip volume and for working with their contour. Needle diameter – 30G. The effect lasts about 6 months. Each package contains 2 syringes (0.55 ml each), the cost of 1 package is from 9,000 rubles.
- Juvederm® Ultra 2 –
This drug is suitable for those who need to perform only a small amount of lip volume correction and work more specifically with the contour. Needle diameter – 30G. The effect lasts up to 6 months. The package contains 2 syringes of 0.55 ml each, the cost of 1 package is about 9,000 rubles.
- Juvederm® Ultra 3 – optimally used only to increase lip volume. because it is quite dense and has a needle diameter of 27G. The duration of the effect is about 6-8 months. Of the entire Juvederm family, this is the cheapest filler, the cost of which starts at 6,200 rubles per 1.0 ml.
- Juvederm® Volbella is an elastic filler with a 30G needle diameter. The drug is suitable for both increasing volume and correcting lip contour. Juvederm Volbella is made using Vycross® technology, which means the effect lasts about 12 months. The package contains 2 syringes of 1.0 ml. The cost of 1 package is about 16,000 rubles (i.e., the cost of 1 syringe will be about 8,000 rubles).
- Restylane® Lip Volume (instructions) – this gel is designed to both increase volume and create lip contour. Approved for use in persons over 21 years of age. An excellent drug with an effect of up to 1 year. The cost of 1 syringe with a volume of 1.0 ml will be about 9,500 rubles.
- Belotero® Intens - filler Belotero Intens can be used both to create volume and to correct the contour of the lips. It has high cohesiveness (does not migrate in moving areas) and a high elasticity index. The cost of 1 syringe with a volume of 1.0 ml is from 7,000 rubles. The effect lasts about 6 months.
There are a lot of other fillers, among which there are also much more budget ones, for example, Princess and Gialax fillers (their cost is only about 3,500 rubles per 1.0 ml), but it must be admitted that they are significantly inferior in their characteristics to the above listed materials. They are more difficult to work with, they are not as elastic, plastic and cohesive, and their consumption to achieve a similar result will be higher. And all this must be taken into account when choosing. You can read more about comparing different types of fillers in the article -

Injection mesotherapy
Before the procedure, an anesthetic drug (most often lidocaine-based ointment) is applied. Lips are pricked with the drug according to the agreed upon technique.
The choice of injection pattern depends on the problem being solved, the relief, and the appearance of the lips.
First, the contour is chipped, then the inner surface is filled. This technique allows you to emphasize the sculpture and increase volume.
After injections, repeated disinfection is carried out. Gently knead your lips to distribute the drug evenly.
According to the classical scheme, the course includes 5-12 sessions with a break of 7-14 days. The number of procedures depends on the drug, the depth of the problem, and the characteristics of the body.
Hardware
This procedure is less painful than injection. Painkillers may not be used. During electroporation, a special apparatus is used that generates galvanic or low-frequency current.
The cocktail is applied to the lips and the skin around them. Under the influence of electric current pulses, the permeability of cell membranes increases. Through open ion channels, the drug penetrates into the middle layers of the skin, activating the synthesis of collagen and elastin. Water balance is restored.
The effect lasts from several months to six months. It is considered optimal to repeat the course once every 6 months.
Types of lip augmentation without injections
Lip augmentation without injections is possible in several ways.
Electroporation
This is a type of cosmetic procedure, during which lip volume is replenished through the use of electric current. During the operation, the tissues are treated with a weak pulsating field, which promotes the opening of microscopic channels on the surface of the lips.
Non-injection augmentation allows you to add volume to the lip tissue, change their shape and correct asymmetry.
Such methods include electroporation and laser biorevitalization, when drugs are injected into tissues under the influence of a weak pulsating current or laser; mesotherapy with mesoroller and hyaluronic acid; radio wave thermage.
All such procedures are inferior in effectiveness to injections, but in cases where a significant increase is not required, they are quite effective.
It is through these areas that the active substances contained in the drug used will enter the dermal layers. As a rule, products based on hyaluronic acid are used to enlarge lips. Its molecules are able to attract moisture, causing the skin to be moisturized, nourished and look more elastic.
The dermal layers on the lips are often dry, so the non-injection method uses hyaluronic acid.
In combination with complex therapy, it moisturizes the skin and contributes not only to visual enlargement, but also to the saturation of all layers with a sufficient amount of liquid.Therefore, after the procedure, experts recommend drinking plenty of fluids.
Cosmetologist, dermatologist, trichologist
Kalinina Olga Alexandrovna
4 years of experience
Electroporation has some similarities to iontophoresis. Only here the active components are delivered to problem areas through lipid channels and begin to work in the layers of the dermis.
This procedure can only be performed after consultation with a specialist. The cosmetologist will examine the problem area, assess its condition and select the most suitable remedy.
Carrying out
The procedure itself involves performing several sequential actions.
First, the remnants of decorative cosmetics and dirt particles are removed from the lips. Next, the surface is scrubbed using peeling with microabrasive particles, which allows you to get rid of dead cells.
At the next stage, the cosmetologist applies a meso-cocktail selected in advance to the lips. Using a special device, he makes several movements on the surface to create a field that will open the tubules. Exposure to high-frequency current with low intensity allows the delivery of active components to great depths.
The procedure itself is painless and may be accompanied by slight tingling or discomfort. However, if the patient has a low pain threshold or very sensitive skin, then a gel or cream with local anesthetic properties is applied to the area requiring treatment.
After the end of the session, there is an improvement in the appearance of the lips, they become softer and brighter.
To achieve an increasing effect, it is recommended to complete the full course, which will include up to 12 procedures. Cosmetologists recommend no more than two sessions per week. To maintain the result obtained, in the future you will need to perform the manipulation once every three months.
Advantages and disadvantages
When compared with plastic surgery or injection techniques, in terms of effect, electroporation is several times inferior. This manipulation is more suitable for moisturizing lips, nourishing, restoring elasticity and youth. In this case, it is unlikely that it will be possible to achieve the maximum volume.
Why can our articles be trusted?
We make health information clear, accessible and relevant.
- All articles are checked by practicing doctors.

However, if there is no need for a pronounced increase, then it will be possible to appreciate all its positive aspects:
- painlessness;
- minimal likelihood skin damage
- low cost ;
- no need for training and rehabilitation;
- minimum restrictions ;
- low probability of developing an allergy to the formulations used.
Despite such a large list of advantages, you should still be more careful when choosing a cosmetologist who will make your lips more voluminous and beautiful.
Laser biorevitalization
This is a needle-free lip augmentation procedure, during which active substances are delivered to the dermal layers by exposing the skin to a device with directed low-frequency laser radiation.
This cosmetic procedure is performed under local anesthesia. The composition of the drug used contains non-concentrated hyaluronic acid of non-animal origin. The duration of the method takes no more than 4 minutes.
Before applying the composition, the doctor cleanses the skin of cosmetics and impurities and disinfects it with a disinfectant. After the painkiller begins to take effect, the specialist proceeds directly to the session. To do this, he acts on the lips with a special device that distributes the hyaluronic composition over the surface and inside the epithelial tissues. Finally, a nourishing cream is applied to the skin.
In order for the resulting effect to be more stable and long-lasting, several procedures will be required, the interval between which should be 14-21 days. In general, the number of sessions and their frequency are determined by the cosmetologist for each client individually.
Unlike injection biorevitalization, this method is less effective, since there is no full probability that the substance will reach the desired areas.
After the manipulation, not only a slight increase in volume is noted, but also an increase in elasticity, hydration, restoration of shade and brightness, and a clearer contour. In addition, purse-string wrinkles are smoothed out and the surface becomes smoother.
To maintain the results obtained as long as possible, you need to adhere to some rules for further care. It is not recommended to massage this area or apply decorative cosmetics to it for two weeks. It is also important to protect your lips from skincare products. For example, if you apply cream or lotion to your face, you need to make sure that it does not get on the treated surface.
For some time, it is not recommended to expose lips to ultraviolet radiation and high temperatures. In view of this, at the time of recovery you will have to give up going to the bathhouse, sauna, solarium and beach.
It is also not recommended to smoke and drink alcoholic beverages. The effect will be minimal or completely absent if laser biorevitalization was performed in the presence of diseases included in the list of contraindications.
Thermage
This procedure is mostly known as a method of rejuvenating the body and face. However, it is often used to fill the missing volume of the lips. The method involves the use of a special radio wave radiation device.
When the lip area is exposed to the tip, their surface is heated. As a result, destruction of keratinized cellular structures is noted. In addition, the process of natural production of collagen and elastin fibers is activated. This is how the update occurs.
This method of augmentation does not involve the use of an anesthetic drug. However, if the patient has high skin sensitivity and a low pain threshold, then the cosmetologist supplies cold air to the treated area. This measure not only helps relieve discomfort, but also prevents thermal energy from escaping.
Radio waves are able to penetrate the dermal layers to a depth of 0.5-4.3 millimeters. The time during which they will act is determined by the specialist based on what effect the patient wants to get. After replenishing the volume, the appearance of the lips does not change and is as close to natural as possible. To consolidate or correct the result, it may be necessary to repeat the procedure.
Mesotherapy
Lip augmentation without pricks and injections is also possible with the help of a mesoscooter, despite the fact that this method is unlikely to help obtain significant volume. However, after such an effect, smoothing, increased elasticity, and restoration of a healthy appearance are observed. Due to this, lips look visually fuller.
The procedure is performed using a mesoscooter and a preparation with hyaluronic acid. Thanks to the instrument, active substances penetrate deep into the dermis, stimulating the functioning of nerve receptors. This starts the process of synthesis of elastin and collagen in soft tissues.
Rehabilitation
Immediately after administration of the drug, redness appears at the injection site. They can become dense and painful. Swelling may occur after approximately 6-12 hours. As a rule, all side effects disappear within 5-7 days. At this time you cannot:
- overheat (exclude visits to baths, saunas, solariums);
- drink alcohol;
- apply lipstick;
- kiss;
- drink hot drinks and food;
- visit the dentist.
It is recommended to take antiviral drugs based on acyclovir for three to five days to prevent the manifestation of herpes.
Possible complications
Sometimes mesotherapy is accompanied by side effects:
- swelling;
- pain;
- hematomas and erythemas;
- hyperemia;
- allergies.
Redness, bruising and swelling will subside within a few days after the procedure.
Severe complications include fibrosis (tissue hardening), scar formation, granulomas, sensory loss, infection, and necrosis. Too deep administration of the drug leads to tissue fibrosis. Failure to maintain aseptic technique can cause infection, leading to abscess, erysipelas, impetigo, or necrosis. Necrosis leads to scars.

The result is visible immediately after the first procedure. Lips become fuller, the contour is clearer, wrinkles are smoothed out. The effect directly depends on the amount of the drug administered.
Immediately after the session, lips may look a little fuller than expected. However, after two days the swelling subsides and the lips look more natural.
For injections, drugs are used that dissolve over time. The duration of the effect depends on:
- depending on the client’s age;
- on the type and volume of the drug;
- on the depth of the problem;
- on the condition and type of skin;
- from lifestyle.
On average, the effect lasts up to six months or longer. Injection therapy procedures are repeated no more often than once every 7-9 months, non-injection therapy - once every six months.
Mesotherapy: my experience
Hello beauties! We talk a lot about skincare cosmetics, but, unfortunately, we rarely touch on the topic of professional procedures. I would like to share my opinion about one of them - mesotherapy.
In general, I love cosmetologists with all my heart because I can come, lie down and say: “Do whatever you need.” Fortunately, I am lucky with “my” specialists))) Due to age, procedures are still limited to cleansing, massages, masks and peelings. And recently mesotherapy
.
A few words about my skin
. From a fairly young age – problematic. Enlarged pores, oily. Now, at 21 years old, I have almost normal skin with a tendency towards oily (in the heat, in stuffy rooms and just periodically) and very sensitive skin.
The mesotherapy procedure itself involves injecting drugs under the skin. Now mesotherapy is carried out in various ways, I did it by injection (injecting the drug with a needle). Mesotherapy of the face, body, hair is carried out. I can only talk about facial skin)
Mesotherapy has many advantages
.
The first is the choice of components. The cosmetologist himself selects the cocktail that your skin needs. Secondly, it is well known that no cream reaches deeper than the upper layer of the skin, therefore, the effect of injections is immeasurably higher. The disadvantages
include , firstly, the pain of the procedure. Secondly, after the procedure it is better to stay at home for a couple of days.
Mesotherapy has no age restrictions. This is not an anti-age procedure. There are drugs for teenagers, the purpose of which is to fight inflammation, there are anti-aging drugs, and many others. Everything according to your needs.
Now directly my experience.
I did three procedures. The break between them can be 7-14 days. I was somewhat limited in time, so I did it once a week. In addition, I alternated mesotherapy with peelings (almond and keratoregulating) - superficial, because... It's summer outside. I cannot say exactly what drug was administered to me, but this is not so important, because... it's all very individual. I had hyaluronic acid combined with vitamin C and something else.
Goals: nutrition, mild anti-inflammatory effect and refreshing complexion.
The procedure is carried out by injecting the drug using a thin needle under the skin. Injections are made in increments of 0.5-1 cm over the entire face (except the nose), neck and upper décolleté.
To be honest, going into the first procedure I was terribly afraid. Simply deadly. I'm terrified of injections. So my knees were shaking)) In general, mesotherapy can be done with pain relief. These are ointments like the widely used Emla and the like. But here is an important nuance - they contain lidocaine, and it dries and irritates the skin. Mine is already sensitive, and I also took a course of peelings at the same time. So I endured it like that, without pain relief. The skin is cleaned, disinfected and, in fact, the procedure begins. I really closed my eyes and shrank at first))) But they started from the forehead, and there, you know, the sensitivity is less. So at first I chatted almost carefree with the doctor. But I basically have a fairly high pain threshold. Then it’s not so rosy)) When they injected my cheeks (the part near the nose), I really felt how the drug was being injected - something was starting to burst the skin. This is more of a self-hypnosis, of course)) It hurts – the nasolabial part. There I just froze. The neck is not very good, but for some reason the collarbone area hurts. In general, it’s no more painful than serious manual cleaning. In any case, I went into the second procedure with a light heart and without the slightest hesitation)))
The procedure takes me about 20 minutes. For others, it takes longer. The cosmetologist immediately suggested that I take “breaks” if it hurt too much. But it’s easier for me to endure it, to suffer right away, rather than prolong the pleasure. Of course, the appearance after the procedure is not very good. I have two associations - insect bites and for some reason a mattress, you know, there used to be such stitched ones)))) In any case, it is better not to schedule meetings and events on this day (and the next one too). On the face, these papules are most visible around the eyes along the contour of the face itself. By the evening of the second day it is completely powdered. The neck is worse. The skin there is very thin, and the papules last for three days. Powdering is useless, it’s not redness or any other pigment, it’s a play of light and shadow due to the bulges. I saved myself with stoles, scarves/shawls and a distant expression on my face - I couldn’t completely hide my neck)))
The effect of the procedure is visible immediately as soon as the papules disappear. The skin becomes smoother, softer, fresher, more nourished. I am 100% satisfied with the result; it completely justified both the unpleasant sensations and the material costs. By the way, the cost of procedures varies greatly depending on the drug itself. Three procedures are enough for me, but again this is individual. It is better to repeat the course of procedures every 8-10 months. There are no problems with my face after the procedures. There are no prohibitions, except that you can’t put too much pressure on the papules (very hard) - a hematoma may form. And you shouldn’t use the scrub for a couple of days.
There will be a couple of ugly photos next! The impressionable can scroll through
Photo only on an iPhone, because for some reason I didn’t want to photograph it in good quality
Neck 4 hours after the procedure. I didn’t get around to photographing my face, sorry))
And parts of the face by the evening of the second day (i.e. after about 36 hours).
That's all, I guess;) Thanks for your attention!
As always, yours is Alina. Increase
Showroom price
The cost of one procedure is from 1,000 to 10,000 rubles. Price depends:
- on the type of drug used, its quantity;
- cosmetologist qualifications;
- depth of the problem;
- selected technique.
Procedures using the Spanish drugs INNO-TDS Anti-Ageing, INNO-TDS Vitamin Complex and INNO-TDS Firming, NCTF 135 are more expensive. Therapy OM-MESOSHINE detox, OM-DMAE 1% is cheaper.
The total price of the course depends on the number of sessions.
Mesotherapy at home
The procedure at home is carried out using a mesoscooter - a cosmetic device consisting of a roller with needles no longer than 0.5 mm and a handle. The steps of the procedure are the same as with the injection method. Given the short length of the needles, the anesthetic drug may not be applied.
Before the procedure, the roller is disinfected (with alcohol, Chlorhexidine, etc.). After the session, it is washed with soap. Allow to dry completely and store in a case. To prevent infection, the device must not be shared with other people, even loved ones.
Fractional lip mesotherapy and its features
Fractional lip mesotherapy is a hardware technique that uses a small device equipped with many small needles. As the device moves across the treated area, it creates punctures on it, through which the meso-cocktail penetrates the dermis.
Fractional mesotherapy is performed only in cosmetology, since only a certified master can use the device.
Methodology
The procedure always begins with preparing the skin - it is cleaned and treated with a disinfectant solution. Painkillers are not usually used.
Then the cosmetologist prepares the device itself. He puts on a sterile nozzle, sets the necessary settings and begins the procedure:
- The cosmetologist applies a thick layer of meso-cocktail to the treated area.
- The device is installed on the skin and begins to gradually move across it. The lower lip is usually treated first, then the upper lip, and then the area around the lips.
- After the procedure is completed, excess meso-cocktail is removed from the skin, and it is re-treated with a disinfectant solution.
- A soothing lotion is applied.
The session usually takes about twenty minutes, and during the procedure the girl does not feel any discomfort.
Tints for the procedure
Cosmetologists often add special pigments – tints – to the meso-cocktail. Thanks to them, you can give your lips the desired shade - both natural light pink and dark burgundy.
The meso cocktail will not give your lips a bright, saturated color, but it will refresh them and save you from the need to constantly paint them with lipsticks and glosses.
The following tints are most often used in lip mesotherapy:
- Water Lip Stain;
- Salmon;
- Lip pigment NUDE;
- Sweet Glam Tint Glow Mini Kit.
One dose of tint usually costs from 300 to 2000 rubles, and it lasts for 3-4 sessions.
Result before and after
In the photo you can clearly see the effectiveness of mesotherapy. However, keep in mind that you cannot achieve such a result in one session; most often, girls have to take a course consisting of 5-7 visits to cosmetology.
You can achieve this result yourself at home, in which case you use a small manual unit - a mesoscooter.
Reviews
Marina, 34 years old, Perm
“I did mesotherapy to eliminate the asymmetry between the upper and lower lips. The procedure was very painful. The lips seemed too big. After a few days the volume leveled off. They looked great. The effect lasted almost a year. I’m satisfied with the procedure.”
Olga, 52 years old, Kaliningrad
“With age, my lips have lost volume. The top one turned into a shapeless thread. The outline blurred. The cosmetologist advised me to do mesotherapy to correct the defects. I liked the effect immediately after the procedure. After 4 months, the lips returned to their previous state. Now I'm doing bioreinforcement. The result lasts longer and the relief around the mouth is evened out. I will not return to mesotherapy.”
