6 things that can happen to your genitals

Labiaplasty is an intimate plastic surgery of the labia (LP). Surgical correction of the shape and size of external intimate organs is the most common service in the field of plastic surgery in this area, due to the ease of the procedure, quick recovery period and minimal risk of complications.

The Miracle Doctor Clinic offers a wide range of services that are provided in accordance with medical prescriptions or for aesthetic reasons. Our doctors have an average of 20 years of experience - they are doctors of the highest category, regularly taking advanced training courses, thematic seminars, and most importantly, having constant practice in performing this operation.

Our operating obstetricians and gynecologists perform surgical procedures to reduce the labia minora, restore their symmetry, remove the effects of deformation and tears due to childbirth or the first signs of aging of the intimate area.

We offer labiaplasty at a low price in Moscow. The pricing policy of the Miracle Doctor clinic is transparent; pricing depends on the surgical technique, type of anesthesia and length of hospital stay.

Laser and surgical labiaplasty. What's better?

The choice of surgical method depends on the anatomical conditions and the effects we want to achieve. In fact, there is no advantage of the laser method over the surgical method. After laser and classical surgery, the recovery period is similar in duration. The patient's sensations are also similar. Therefore, a specialist should decide how and with what to perform labiaplasty.

It is worth emphasizing that some aesthetic effects cannot be achieved with a laser. Therefore, many surgeons prefer a scalpel.

Uterine prolapse

Uterine prolapse occurs when the muscles and ligaments of the pelvic floor stretch and weaken, no longer providing sufficient support for the uterus. As a result, the uterus drops down and protrudes from the vagina.

Causes: Uterine prolapse can occur in women of any age, especially during menopause or after several vaginal births.

What to do: The safest treatment method for the initial stages of uterine prolapse today is the use of an ER:YAG laser using IntimaLase technology. The procedure does not damage the vaginal tissue and is aimed at restoring the amount of young collagen in its walls and fascia of the pelvic floor. This ensures effective functioning of the pelvic floor muscles and eliminates sagging of the vaginal walls.

Where can I have my labia corrected?

The effect of the procedure is irreversible, and, like any procedure, labiaplasty is associated with a small, but still risk of complications. Therefore, it should be performed in a reputable clinic, with a doctor you can trust and who has relevant experience in performing this type of surgery.

Before labiaplasty, a consultation is held, during which the patient can ask the doctor any questions. She must trust the doctor, on whom the outcome of the operation depends.

Contraindications

There are a number of contraindications for refusing surgical intervention:

  • infections identified during the examination, including colds and acute respiratory viral infections;
  • presence of a tumor;
  • deviations from the norm in blood clotting parameters;
  • heart, kidney or liver disease.

It is recommended to postpone surgery during menstruation, and also not to perform it if the woman has unrealistic ideas about the final result.

Do the labia hurt after labiaplasty?

Almost every patient interested in labiaplasty asks about possible pain during and after the procedure. It should be understood that labiaplasty is performed with mandatory anesthesia, so the discomfort is insignificant. Touching is felt during the procedure, and after surgery, only some patients require emergency use of over-the-counter pain relievers. The next day you can return to your daily activities.

If the healing process is normal, swelling of the operated area may last 7-14 days, but it usually does not interfere with function or cause pain. If you have non-absorbable sutures, you may feel some discomfort when removing them.

Increased vaginal volume

A weak vagina, or vaginal relaxation syndrome, is a rather unpleasant thing that can deprive you and your partner of the usual joys of sex. In the presence of the syndrome, the tone, elasticity and firmness of the vaginal walls decreases. This leads to unnatural, squelching sounds during sex, decreased sexual satisfaction and problems achieving orgasm.

Causes: An increase in vaginal volume can be caused by the aging of the female body and the onset of menopause, as well as difficult, multiple births.

What to do: Vaginal relaxation syndrome can be eliminated by using a non-surgical method of exposing the vaginal walls to laser radiation.

The painless IntimaLase treatment method will help not only reduce the volume of the vagina, restore the tone, firmness and elasticity of its walls, but also restore the activity of the G-spot area, ensuring increased orgasm.

What type of anesthesia is used in labiaplasty?

For labia surgery, local anesthesia is used in the operated area. If necessary, an anesthesiologist comes to the rescue and administers painkillers intravenously. In extreme cases, complete anesthesia is possible.

Anesthesia in labiaplasty

Patients also often receive intravenous perioperative prophylaxis, which is a single dose of antibiotic.

Methodology

Labiaplasty is performed by doctors in clinics on an outpatient basis. As a rule, women do not stay in the hospital after the procedure and return home after 2-3 hours. Plastic surgery takes from several minutes to half an hour, maximum.

The intervention is performed under local anesthesia or general anesthesia. The folds of the mucous membrane of the vaginal vestibule can be reduced by excision or resection of tissue, which is carried out using a surgical scalpel or a medical laser. There are several options for carrying out the procedure; the final result depends on the chosen method:

  1. Trimming the edge of the minor lip or linear method. The technique is the simplest to perform and, at the same time as changing the size, solves the problem of edge hyperpigmentation. During the operation, the edges are trimmed and stitches are applied.
  2. The main negative effect of the method is the loss of the natural appearance of the genital organ; the small lips lose their natural wrinkles. In addition, there is a high probability of repeated plastic surgery to obtain the desired result. With this technique, there is also a high risk of damaging the nerve endings, and the organ will lose sensitivity.

  3. Resection of wedge-shaped (V-shaped) areas of small folds. Most operating plastic surgeons choose this technique, despite the fact that it is more complex than circumcision. During labiaplasty, wedge-shaped sections of tissue from the thickest areas of the folds are cut out.
  4. The cost of resection is higher than circumcision. The result is the natural contours of the woman’s genital organ, the scar after the operation practically disappears, and the risk of complications with this technique is reduced.

  5. Deepithelialization with a laser scalpel. With this method, laser excision of the epithelium is performed in the center of the folds, as well as the edges. The result is a reduction in the length of the organ, while maintaining sensitivity and a natural appearance. The technique is suitable for patients with slight hypertrophy. The operation can be performed using a medical scalpel.

Can the labia grow back?

Labiaplasty is a definitive procedure. Excess tissue removed from the labia minora area does not grow back. Of course, it cannot be ruled out that due to the aging of the body or significant fluctuations in the patient’s body weight, in a few years the lips will be as perfect as in youth, but they will never return to their pre-surgery state.

Rehabilitation period

In the first days after surgery, pain may occur, which can be relieved with painkillers. For several weeks you should adhere to a number of rules:

- forget about visiting the pool, sauna, swimming in open water, taking baths;

— carefully observe intimate hygiene, if necessary, treat the external genitalia with antiseptic compounds (if this is necessary, the doctor will explain everything and show how to do it correctly);

- refuse physical activity, do not lift heavy objects;

— lead a calm lifestyle (without alcohol, club dancing, sudden jumps, etc.).

Compliance with all recommendations is of great importance: in approximately half of the cases, complications arise not due to medical errors, but due to simple non-compliance with the surgeon’s recommendations during the rehabilitation period.

Preparatory stage

Before surgery, consultation with a surgeon, tests, and the patient’s efforts to prepare her own body are necessary. The doctor will determine the scale of the problem and the specific way to solve it by examining the woman in a gynecological chair. Before surgery you need to take tests:

  • blood and urine (general);
  • per group and Rh factor;
  • for HIV, hepatitis, syphilis;
  • for clotting.

2 weeks before the intervention, the patient should quit smoking and take blood thinning medications (aspirin, tocopherol acetate, fatty acids). Perhaps she will be advised to take vitamins. One day before surgery you should not have sex.
