Biorevitalizants and fillers Stylage
In this article we will analyze in detail the line of STYLAGE preparations. Let's find out the types, composition, areas of application, cost and effectiveness. And also how contour plastic surgery and biorevitalization are done based on them, we will get acquainted with the reviews of doctors and patients. We will also show the results of the injections in “before and after photos.”

About the manufacturer and products

Stylage products are manufactured by the French company Laboratoire Vivacy.

Founded in 2006, it burst into the beauty market without much preamble or hesitation thanks to its excellent high-tech base, good specialists and entrepreneurship. Since then, the company has not only maintained the once-set high level of product quality, but also regularly conducts research on customer satisfaction with its products. It is interesting that not only Laboratoire Vivacy employees are involved in the research, but also independent specialists to obtain a more objective assessment.

Restylane: reviews

The Restylane® line of contouring products are very high quality products with an excellent price/quality ratio. As you already understand, you can safely choose them if you need correction of medium or deep folds and wrinkles. Doctors' reviews of Restylane can be summarized in the following information: it is safe, its administration is easy to control, which allows you to get good results. This is what makes this filler one of the most popular in the USA and Europe, although it should be noted that every year more and more similar products of good quality appear.

In addition, this manufacturer is one of the few to conduct laboratory tests of its products for residual protein content. The fact is that almost all fillers today are produced by bacterial fermentation, and therefore, if the degree of purification is insufficient, they may contain a small amount of bacterial proteins that can cause allergic reactions in some patients.

Another feature is the technology of gel extrusion through a special filter, which makes it possible to achieve the presence of gel-like particles of a strictly specified size in the gel composition (for example, 250 or 1000 microns), which allows obtaining a precisely specified density and elasticity of the gel. For example, other manufacturers' fillers consist of gel-like particles with random sizes and shapes. According to some authors, this may lead to an uneven rate of degradation of the hyaluronic acid gel in tissues.

Important: you must understand that fillers are not a panacea, and they are only a temporary solution to the problem of wrinkles and folds. Hyaluronic acid fillers do not lead to the formation of new collagen, and as soon as the gel in the tissue is destroyed, the wrinkle returns again. You should not believe advertising articles that say that the introduction of hyaluronic acid fillers stimulates collagen production or significantly moisturizes the skin. No serious clinical study (which involved taking skin samples before and after the procedure) has shown an increase in collagen in the dermis greater than the statistical error.

Today, there is convincing evidence of the formation of new collagen at filler injection sites. But this evidence does not apply to hyaluronic acid fillers. For example, it has been proven that the process of neocollagenogenesis takes place after the introduction of the Sculptra filler, consisting of microspherical particles of poly-L-lactic acid. Moreover, the effect of introducing this filler is comparable to the effect of plastic surgery. By the way, Sculptra filler is produced by Galderma®, which owns Q-Med, which produces Restylane. Those. In principle, they have the same manufacturer.

Collagen formation is also caused by Radiesse filler, which consists of microspherical particles of calcium hydroxyapatite suspended in a gel. Moreover, the visible effect after using such drugs lasts for about 24 months. You can read more about the different types of fillers for correcting wrinkles and folds at the link below. However, hyaluronic acid fillers are the gold standard for wrinkle correction. Although this standard is more commercial due to the simplicity of the procedure, the absence of the need for any equipment or expensive training of the doctor, and also due to the small number of side effects.

Line of drugs Stylage

Stylage is based on cross-linked (stabilized) hyaluronic acid of non-animal origin. It is produced using Laboratoire Vivacy's patented IPN-LIKE cross-linking technology. This substance is a transparent, viscous, elastic gel, which:

  • fills fine wrinkles and deep folds;
  • helps to correct the shape of lips, cheekbones, nose, chin, lower jaw line;
  • moisturizes the skin in its deep layers, replenishing the lack of its own hyaluronic acid that occurs with age.

Comparison with analogues

There are quite a few analogues of Stilazh on the cosmetics market, but they all have individual characteristics:

  • Preparations from the Princess line - contain hyaluronic acid and glycerin, used to restore the clarity of the oval of the face, enlarge the lips, level the relief and smooth out nasolabial folds, the result lasts no longer than 10 months;
  • multi-component Aquashine gels - they contain hyaluronic acid, peptides, amino acids, are administered only in a course, are absolutely not suitable for contouring, can only improve the general condition of the skin, the effect lasts for 12 months;
  • Ellanse is a powerful drug that fills deep wrinkles, corrects skin defects, does not migrate in the intercellular space and does not provoke allergies, the effect lasts up to 4 years.

Age restrictions

The use of “beauty injections” is difficult to strictly link to any age. The individual characteristics of the body, skin condition, lifestyle and much more play a role here. An approximate formula based on the calculations of cosmetologists and their long-term observations looks like this:

  • From 18 to 27 years old, the use of biorevitalizants and Stylage fillers for rejuvenation does not make sense, since at this time the skin itself copes with the synthesis of hyaluronic acid. However, in exceptional cases, fillers can be used to correct minor defects, for example, violation of the symmetry of facial features.
  • From 27 to 35 years is a suitable age for biorevitalization, which will keep the skin fresh and elastic.
  • From age 35, cells begin to slow down the rate of production of hyaluronic acid and need external nutrition. This is where the most fertile time for Stylage fillers begins.
  • Lip contouring can be done at any age, starting from 18 years. There are no other restrictions on it. tations.

In each individual case, the decision on the use of drugs is made by a cosmetologist during a face-to-face consultation.

The most popular types of lip shape and volume correction:

  • Increasing the volume of the upper or lower lip (if there is insufficient volume or lips that are naturally narrow)
  • Correction of the shape of the lips (raise the “missing” upper lip, visually narrow the mouth or make it wider, on the contrary).
  • Changing the contour of the lips (emphasize the curves of the upper lip, correct lip asymmetry).
  • Raising drooping corners of lips

Most fillers used to enlarge and correct the shape of the lips are preparations of hyaluronic acid, a natural component found in the skin that fills the space between cells and fibers.

Contraindications for use

Almost the only reason to abandon the idea of using Stylage products once and for all could be an allergy to one of their components. Other restrictions are more likely temporary, but they should not be neglected.

Postpone your transformation at least for a while if you have:

  • increased temperature regardless of the reason;
  • a viral or cold disease has been diagnosed;
  • have any skin disease, including herpes;
  • problems with the immune system of various kinds;
  • At the moment there are inflammatory processes in the body;
  • low degree of blood clotting;
  • diabetes;
  • epilepsy;
  • there are neoplasms.

In addition, if you are going to take a course of any medications, do not forget to warn your cosmetologist about this. Taking some medications is incompatible with the procedure - for example, regular aspirin or St. John's wort decoction can cause bruising at the injection sites.

Getting ready for injections Stylage

Recommends stopping taking blood thinning medications, aspirin, vitamin C, and anti-inflammatory drugs a week in advance. Doctors do not do preliminary tests of Stylazh; an allergy to its components or anesthetics may cause the drug to be replaced. You will have to refuse correction with Stilage drugs if:

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding.
  • The presence of acute infections and inflammations, skin lesions in the problem area.
  • Specific diseases (autoimmune, oncology, impaired blood clotting, tendency to scar formation).
  • Keloid scars and tissue hypertrophy (cannot be treated).

Comparison of Stylage fillers with competitors

There are plenty of products similar to Stylage on the beauty market. Some of them have something to oppose to the French fillers, others are hopelessly inferior to them. What you choose is ultimately up to you.

Pros and cons of Filler Rack

The fillers of the Rack line have a whole list of advantages:

  • affordable price of drugs;
  • ease of administration into the superficial and deep layers of the dermis;
  • can be used by women of different ages;
  • the plasticity of the gel and the ease of its distribution in the intercellular space;
  • long-term preservation of the results obtained – in most cases up to 12 months.

Only two points stand out from the shortcomings:

  • manipulation of drug administration should be carried out exclusively in an outpatient/clinical setting and by a person with a higher medical education;
  • high probability of side effects during the recovery period.

Contour plastic Stylage

Let us immediately note that you can trust the injection of fillers only to a specialist who has a certificate to perform this procedure and works under appropriate conditions. This means that no matter how tempting the idea of saving a few thousand by visiting a cosmetologist at home may seem, it is not worth doing. If something goes wrong, you will hardly be able to get qualified help or achieve compensation.

Follow three rules strictly:

  1. Trust your face only to a certified specialist and only in a specially equipped salon.
  2. Request a certificate confirming the authenticity of the drug. A good cosmetologist will demonstrate it to you himself, and in the case of Stylage fillers, he will also give you a sticker, which usually comes with the product as an additional sign of its quality.
  3. Follow all the requirements of the cosmetologist, carefully prepare for the procedure and do not forget about safety measures after it.

Preliminary preparation

Typically, 1-2 weeks pass between the first consultation with a cosmetologist and the procedure, during which the client must:

  • refuse to visit bathhouses, saunas, swimming pools, open reservoirs and solariums;
  • do not appear in the sun without a wide-brimmed hat, dark glasses and cream with UV filters;
  • do not subject your facial skin to aggressive procedures, be it chemical peeling in a beauty salon or a homemade sugar scrub.

Create comfortable conditions for your skin, cleanse it with soft milk and toner, do not make cosmetic masks that can cause irritation.

Introduction of fillers

  1. It is better to go to an appointment with a cosmetologist without makeup. Your face will still be thoroughly cleaned before the injections, it just takes longer with makeup.

  2. Then markings will be applied to clean skin, which will later serve as a guide for the cosmetologist administering the drug.

  3. The desired area of the face will be treated with an anesthetic to reduce pain.

  4. The specialist will open the package of the drug in front of you and remove from it a syringe with an ultra-thin needle. The filler will be injected under the skin along the marked lines.

  5. The face will be treated again with a special product, this time with antiseptic properties. The procedure will end with a short but intense massage session, which will help the gel to be evenly distributed under the skin.

The results of filler injections manifest themselves in different ways. For some it will be visible immediately, for others it will be visible in a couple of days. But if a cosmetologist advises you to wait 2-3 weeks for the gel to “form,” you are either dealing with an incompetent person or a fraudster.

Biorevitalization Stylage

Unlike contour plastic surgery, restoring volume and filling deep wrinkles is not the primary goal of biorevitalization. This procedure acts more as a prevention, dealing only with fine superficial wrinkles and refreshing the skin. Its main goal is to provide the dermis with high-quality hydration, therefore biorevitalizant gels are less concentrated and have a more liquid texture.

Biorevitalization differs in steps from contour plastic surgery only in the method of drug administration. Different types of techniques are used:

  • Papular. Biogel is injected into the upper layers of the skin through a needle located at a certain angle. The bumps-papules that form under the skin prolong the effect of the drug, although at first the skin may not look aesthetically pleasing.

  • Linear. The needle penetrates the middle layers of the dermis parallel to the surface of the skin. The drug is administered at the moment of its extraction, so the biogel is located in the tissues in the thinnest “line” - in the direction of movement of the needle.

  • Pinpoint microinjections. The cosmetologist performs a series of punctures located as close to each other as possible, each time introducing a tiny amount of gel. This makes it possible to achieve high precision in the treatment of wrinkles and uniform distribution of the drug in the tissues.

Restylane Vital: reviews

The Swedish company produces not only fillers for filling wrinkles, but also a line of preparations for skin biorevitalization called Restylane® Skinboosters.
It includes 2 drugs: 1) Restylane Vital - for mature skin with signs of aging, 2) Restylane Vital Light - for the prevention of aging of young skin. Until recently, each of these drugs had 2 release forms: in syringes of 1.0 ml, and also in the form of special injectors of 2.0 ml. Special injectors were convenient because they made it possible to automatically dose the drug, performing a series of 200 microinjections with a volume of 10 μl each. This form has been discontinued for 2021 but is still available from a number of suppliers. Therefore, for a short period of time, Restylane Vital and Restylane Vital Light will only be available in 1.0 ml syringes (with or without lidocaine).

Restylane® Skinboosters VITAL packaging –

Features of Restylane Vital and Vital Light –

It should be noted that these drugs are very different from most of all other biorevitalizants. Most of these preparations use so-called “native” hyaluronic acid, the molecules of which are not cross-linked with each other using chemical bonds. This type of HA is also called “not stabilized”. Native HA molecules have a short life cycle: the half-life of 50% of the molecules is 24 hours, the rest are destroyed over the next 24-48 hours.

Thus, the therapeutic effect of injections with native HA will act on the skin for only about 3 days. During this time, HA will increase the moisture content of the skin and also increase the activity of endothelial cells, which will lead to improved blood supply to the skin. Given the short period of time, this will give tired skin a rested look (for example, after excessive exposure to the sun) - however, there can be no talk of stimulating collagen production or increasing skin elasticity.

Restylane Vital and Restylane Vital Light differ from other preparations with hyaluronic acid used for biorevitalization in that they contain not native, but stabilized HA in the form of a highly elastic gel with a weakly defined reticular mesh structure. Those. They are somewhat similar to wrinkle fillers, but they do not add volume to the skin at the injection site. Once Restylane Vital is injected into the skin, the gel will disintegrate faster than traditional fillers, releasing active HA molecules over about 3-4 weeks.

The duration of the course of therapy will depend on the condition of the skin, but 3 procedures are usually recommended, with a break of 3-4 weeks between them. Below we will describe the features of each drug -

  • Restylane Vital - contains 20 mg/ml stabilized hyaluronic acid of non-animal origin. Available in 2 versions - with or without 0.3% lidocaine anesthetic. Indicated for use for mature skin with pronounced signs of photoaging, as well as decreased skin elasticity, deformation of facial contours, dryness and increased oiliness of the skin. The drug is injected into the middle layers of the dermis.
  • Restylane Vital Light - contains 12 mg/ml stabilized hyaluronic acid of non-animal origin.
    Available in 2 versions - with or without 0.3% lidocaine anesthetic. Indicated for use on younger skin to prevent photodamage to the skin, as well as for its rapid recovery after toxic or invasive effects (reducing the effects of smoking, after chemical peeling techniques or laser skin resurfacing). Unlike the previous one, this drug can already be used in areas with thinner skin - in the area of the lateral corners of the eyes, in the décolleté area, on the neck, hands. The injection technique is the same for both Vital and Vital Light - for this, the technique of multiple micropunctures (napazh), superficial papules, linear and fan techniques can be used.

Rules for the rehabilitation period

The rules for caring for your skin after procedures are simple, but mandatory. At this time it is important:

  • keep your face clean using products recommended by a cosmetologist, including antiseptics;
  • do not perform peelings, massages and other aggressive procedures;
  • continue to avoid open bodies of water, swimming pools, baths, solariums, beaches and use sun protection.

The recovery period lasts 2-3 weeks.

Healing period

Immediately after the correction, some discomfort may be present. This is considered the norm.

The healing period lasts differently for everyone. On average, this is 3-7 days.

At this time, it is important to follow certain rules:

  • refrain from using decorative cosmetics;
  • treat the skin of the face with anti-inflammatory cream several times a day;
  • To cleanse your face, use only professional creams and foams;
  • do not touch your face;
  • limit physical activity;
  • protect your face from direct rays of the sun;
  • do not drink alcohol, give up nicotine;
  • do not visit the bathhouse, sauna, solarium.

How long does the effect last?

How long the effect of the drug will last depends on the individual characteristics of the body, the thoroughness of skin care and many other factors. Even a trip to a country with a hotter climate can play a role - for example, if you use fillers immediately before your vacation.

According to the calculations of Laboratoire Vivacy itself, the average results look like this:

  • Stylage S : up to 9 months.
  • Stylage L : up to 12 months.
  • Stylage M and Stylage M Lidocain : up to 12 months.
  • Stylage XL and Stylage XXL : from 8 to 14 months.
  • Stylage Special Lips: 6 to 9 months.
  • Stylage Hydoro and Hydromax : 2-4 months.

How Restylane® works –

Restylane® fillers are made from non-animal hyaluronic acid obtained by bacterial fermentation. Normally, the life cycle of hyaluronic acid (HA) molecules is only 24-48 hours, and so that the gel does not quickly collapse, the chains of HA molecules included in its composition are subjected to chemical modification. This leads to the formation of chemical bonds between the individual chains of HA, which seem to “stitch” the individual chains together. This type of HA is called stabilized, and it does not degrade for a long time (from 6 to 12 months).

What does hyaluronic acid gel look like?

Method of application –

Restylane gel is injected using a syringe and a very thin needle. The manufacturer produces each form of Restylane - both with and without 0.3% lidocaine anesthetic. You will need to check this point with your doctor. If the filler does not contain an anesthetic, then local anesthesia will be required before the procedure. To eliminate wrinkles, the gel is injected into the middle or deep layers of the skin (at the base of each wrinkle, along its entire length). Thus, the filler seems to push the wrinkle out.

Correction of deep wrinkles with filler: scheme

The effect of Restylane gel is noticeable immediately after the procedure, which lasts from 15 to 30 minutes. However, you will see the final result only after 24 hours. The thing is. that Restylane is a filler that is not initially fully hydrated with water, and therefore, after being introduced into the tissue, it will expand slightly during the first 24 hours, absorbing water. This point is very important to consider, especially when correcting lip volume.

Restylane gradually breaks down and disappears, leaving no traces. Therefore, you will need to make repeated injections of the gel to maintain the results. The frequency of injections depends on the type of filler injected. After Restylane® and Restylane® Lip injections, the effect lasts for 6 months (or a little more). After Restylane® Perlane injections, the effect lasts 8-9 months, and with Restylane® Sub-Q, the result lasts about 10-12 months.

Biorevitalization Restylane Vital: reviews

The reviews for the Restylane Vital series of drugs are both positive and negative, and everything will depend on whether your cosmetologist has created inflated expectations. To sell the biorevitalization procedure, cosmetologists often deceive patients, promising them stimulation of the production of new collagen and reduction in the depth of wrinkles, although this is simply impossible. Yes, you can make your skin more radiant, moisturized, minimize the effects of photodamage from solar radiation, slow down the process of wrinkle formation, but that’s all.

In our opinion, Restylane Vital is suitable for patients up to 35 years old, and Restylane Vital Light - up to 25 years old. But provided that your skin does not need express lifting and reducing the depth of wrinkles. These drugs are not suitable if you need intensive rejuvenation. To achieve the latter (in patients aged 35+), in addition to HA, you need to use DNA-RNA complexes, as well as DMAE, which really affect collagen synthesis and give a quick lifting effect.

If you see on the clinic’s website photos before and after injections with Restylane® Vital series drugs, which show miraculous improvements in skin condition, including reducing the depth of folds and wrinkles, this is nothing more than photoshop, or photos of patients after treatment with more radical hardware techniques. But we repeat once again that these drugs will be effective for the prevention of photoaging and age-related changes in the skin, as well as the correction of minor changes. For patients under 25 years of age, these are usually one-time procedures; for patients 25-35 years of age, depending on the skin condition, these are either one-time procedures or a course of 4 procedures.

In this article you can familiarize yourself with clinical studies on whether mono-preparations of hyaluronic acid affect collagen production, as well as see photos of patients before and after biorevitalization procedures. In the same article (link above) you will find detailed information on comparing biorevitalizants from different companies, and we will also tell you which drugs can really help you achieve wrinkle reduction and express skin lifting (in patients over 30-35 years old).

Important: preparations with hyaluronic acid are suitable for mesotherapy and biorevitalization procedures only in patients with finely wrinkled type of facial skin aging. If you start using HA for deformation (edematous) type of skin aging, you will only worsen the deformation of the face. In patients with the deformational type of aging, lymphatic drainage vascular injection of the face, biorevitalizants with DNA-RNA complexes, DMAE will be in the first place, and only at the end of the course of treatment of 4-5 procedures can they add small concentrations of HA to the composition of the injected drugs (and then no more than 0.3-0.5%).

Side effects and possible complications

No cosmetic procedure is immune from complications. By the way, this is another reason to avoid craftsmen working at home, since creating sterility in a private apartment is many times more difficult than in a salon, which means the risks increase proportionally. But even after a visit to a beauty salon, a client may be displeased to discover:

  • itching;
  • pain;
  • swelling;
  • redness;
  • bruising at the injection site;
  • tubercles-papules clearly visible under the skin.

All these are fairly typical reactions to injections and disappear within 3-5 days. If after this period the discomfort and marks on the skin do not disappear, you should visit the cosmetologist who performed the procedure for a consultation. Otherwise, a mild temporary defect may develop into a serious health problem.

But let's consider a situation where the patient has a combination of static and dynamic (crow's feet) wrinkles in the area of the corners of the eyes. In this case, the optimal combination is the use of Botox® injections at the first stage, and only after that a chemical peeling procedure, laser skin resurfacing, or filler injections are performed.
