In an exclusive interview with WomanHit, the couple told their love story and told how their life changed after the birth of children (October 2014)
- Remember how you first met? Was it love at first sight? Dzhigan: We have absolutely no romantic story about how we met. Like most young people, Oksana and I met in a nightclub. I came there with friends for a short time on some business, Oksana was with her friends. Our views crossed, and then this great love grew into marriage.
— How did your relationship develop? Dzhigan: Our romance developed at lightning speed! I thought, why waste time, and on the first of January I suggested to Oksana that we fly away together on vacation to the ocean, the two of us, to get to know each other better. Perhaps I was overcome by thoughts that I was in too much of a hurry, but a couple of weeks spent by the ocean proved to me that she is the one from whom I need children. Then my career was just beginning in Moscow, but I tried to look after her beautifully. I think I succeeded.
Oksana : Denis called me (Dzhigan is the artist’s stage name - approx. WomanHit) and offered to fly together on vacation. We didn't know each other for long, but we talked constantly. Of course, as a girl, I thought for a long time whether it was necessary. On the other hand, I decided to take a risk and did not regret it. Denis courted me very beautifully - unusual bouquets, night dates in parks, gifts. But the most important thing is that he was so attentive and caring towards me that everything else was unimportant.
— Tell me, when did you decide to get married? Was it a magnificent celebration or an evening in a narrow family circle? Dzhigan: We got married on a beautiful date, 12/12/12, we just went to the registry office with close friends and got married. Our little Ariela (the eldest daughter of Dzhigan and Oksana - approx. WomanHit) was with us. I decided not to bother with clothes, I did without jackets, ties - I was wearing a white shirt and black trousers. They decided not to organize demonstration performances from our wedding - we gathered with a narrow circle of relatives and friends and celebrated this event.
Oksana: I wanted everything to be at home, in a narrow circle. And I made my own dress for the wedding. At first I ran around a bunch of stores and boutiques, but I never found what I wanted. And since I am a designer myself, a few sleepless nights - and my dream dress for the wedding was ready.
— Is Oksana a jealous wife? Dzhigan: We have been together for six years, but our marriage and relationships are built on trust, so no one in our family is jealous of anyone, and we do not give reasons for jealousy.
— You are one of the brightest couples in Russian show business. Can your relationship be called cloudless? Oksana: You know, in any family there are always disputes and misunderstandings. Our family is no exception in this regard, but we try to resolve everything peacefully, without scandals and screams, without waking up our neighbors in the morning or at night. (Laughs.) We have been together for so many years that we know each other very well, so conflicts happen very rarely.
— How are responsibilities distributed in your family? Dzhigan: We don’t share them. Either I take my eldest to kindergarten, if there is no filming in the morning, then Oksana takes her or we get together and go together. We love picking Ariela up from kindergarten together and going to family dinners. We put our daughters to bed together if I’m not on tour.
- Do you want more children? Dzhigan: Children are a great happiness, so the more there are, the better. And it doesn't matter what gender. After the birth of two daughters, many journalists ask - now you probably want a son? And I answer - I want another child. As God willing.
Oksana: I agree with Denis. If we have more children, it will only be a joy. I really like being a mother, the process of motherhood itself, I get tremendous pleasure from it.
— Oksana, please share, what is the secret of your family happiness?
Oksana: It’s difficult to answer this question, everyone has their own answer. But I can say that you need to be attentive to your family, caring, do everything with love and, of course, trust your man. If all this is present in your family, it will be happy.
When asked how she manages to maintain an idyll in the family and always remain interesting to her famous husband in an interview with Topbeauty:
“Of course, we quarrel, maybe once every three months, but this is not a quarrel, but shouting at each other, very rarely,” Oksana Samoilova frankly stated. - During the time spent together, we have learned to understand and feel each other’s mood so much! For example, if I see that Denis is tense, I will take care of myself and give him time. We try to smooth out difficult moments and not stir up conflicts. Also, the musician’s wife is sure that lovers need to give each other complete freedom of action. According to Oksana, no person can be happy if he is pressured by obligations and restrictions. It is for this reason that Samoilova is calm about the fact that Dzhigan spends a lot of time outside the home. “It is enough to give a person freedom so that he does not sit in a cage all his life,” explains Oksana. - Why do men have such an opinion about marriage - you get married and that’s it, your life turns into hell, that’s it, you can no longer go anywhere with friends, you no longer belong to yourself? Naturally, if this happens, then such a relationship will not last long - a person cannot sit locked up indefinitely. Denis lives the same way as before marriage - he is an absolutely free person. Naturally, we have some kind of internal family regulations - for example, not coming home after 6 am. The boundaries of our relationship are indeed very wide. And we have plenty of room for freedom.”
