Diamond peeling (microdermabrasion) – express rejuvenation in a few days

The achievements of modern cosmetology make it possible to carry out beauty procedures in the most comfortable conditions, without unpleasant sensations and a long recovery period, and the result will be noticeable in the very near future. Such procedures include diamond peeling - cleansing the skin of impurities and dead epidermis using a special device equipped with diamond-coated attachments. Like any cosmetic manipulation, this type of peeling has its own nuances and features, advantages and contraindications.

Operating principle

As we age, the rate of natural exfoliation decreases and the risk of skin blemishes and signs of aging increases. Microdermabrasion is a hardware treatment of the facial skin with special abrasive attachments containing artificial diamonds. By selecting the required degree of pressure on the surface, the cosmetologist removes layers of keratinized cells. The intensity of cleansing and the depth of penetration depend on the size of the diamond particles, so for deep defects (scars and cicatrices) nozzles with coarse coating are used.

The vacuum reservoir of the device stimulates the production of collagen - a substance that provides natural elasticity to the skin, strengthens the lower layers of the skin and reduces visible signs of aging. During operation, the device simultaneously massages the skin and removes dirt from the pores, collecting surface dust into a container.

The procedure takes 20-60 minutes (depending on the size of the area) and takes place with virtually no pain. Many people say that it is rather pleasant - like a deep facial massage.

Skin microdermabrasion

For example, one type of mechanical facial resurfacing - microdermabrasion - can be carried out using special diamond-coated attachments - this is called diamond resurfacing.

At first, another type of microdermabrasion was used more often - with microscopic aluminum oxide crystals. This substance is very hard - only diamond is harder, and the crystals in the procedure are used in the form of snowflakes or stars; They are not dangerous for the skin and do not cause allergic reactions. During the procedure, the upper layers of epidermal cells are removed - as much as needed: for this, a device with different abrasive attachments is used - aluminum oxide crystals are directed to the surface of the skin under the influence of a vacuum, and impurities and dead cells are removed - layer by layer.

This mechanical method of face resurfacing is good both for problematic skin prone to acne, as well as for eliminating defects and correcting age-related changes.

Microdermabrasion increases blood circulation, improves lymph flow, stimulates the formation of new cells and collagen fibers; the skin becomes thicker and regains its elasticity.

If everything is done correctly, then as a result of mechanical resurfacing of the face, the skin is evened out, its color becomes fresh and healthy, the top layer is thickened and better protected from aggressive influences, but at the same time it is better able to accept caring procedures (masks, etc.) and medicinal cosmetics.

One microdermabrasion session is not enough: at least 2 are required, but this is very rare; as a rule, it takes 5, 7 and even 12 sessions to solve all skin problems - it depends on their complexity. Pronounced defects require patience: in this case, more procedures are needed, and the breaks between them are longer - the skin must have time to recover.

In parallel with facial resurfacing procedures and immediately after them, special cosmetics are used: softening, moisturizing and regenerating - this enhances the effect and complements it - not all skin problems can be solved mechanically.

Microdermabrasion is practically painless and hypoallergenic, it quickly produces noticeable results and has few contraindications.

On what area of skin can the procedure be performed?

Microdermabrasion can be performed on the face or almost any other area of the skin. Most often the face, neck and chest are subjected to the procedure.

Pros of diamond microdermabrasion

The undoubted advantages of a “precious” session are the following factors:

  • cleanses the upper layers of the skin well;
  • does not injure the dermis;
  • the procedure is hypoallergenic;
  • the process is completely hygienic.

Thanks to gentle peeling, diamond cleansing manipulations help quickly restore facial skin. Immediately after the first cleaning, improvements are already noticeable - a light shade, leveling of the relief, a soft and smooth surface.

The change in skin color occurs due to improved microcirculation of blood flow and saturation of cells with oxygen. The softness and elasticity of the epidermis is ensured by the production of natural collagen. Vacuum air pressure stimulates metabolic processes, which reduces the risk of swelling and injury.

Purposes of diamond-vacuum peeling:

  1. Maximum cleaning of the surface of the dermis - removal of dead cells, dirt and sebaceous plugs, as well as epithelial layers.
  2. Preparing the epidermis for other procedures - resurfacing enhances the effect of subsequent cosmetic procedures.
  3. Stimulation of fibrillar protein synthesis - collagen and elastin, improvement of hyaluronic acid production for rapid renewal.

If the cause of excess spots on the face is long-term exposure to direct sunlight, microdermabrasion has the opposite effect.

Since one of the main functions of the skin is to thicken the surface layer under the influence of ultraviolet radiation, a resurfacing session prevents the formation of a protective dermobarrier. Frequent sunbathing while brushing with diamonds will cause new age spots to appear.

What is the difference between diamond microdermabrasion and dermabrasion?

Dermabrasion is carried out using a device using a rotating roller attachment interspersed with abrasive material - oxidized chromium powder or a laser. The essence of the session is the deep study and removal of the old epidermis for further regeneration of the young layer.

Many cosmetologists call the process of dermabrasion an excellent analogue of plastic surgery. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia, and full recovery requires at least eight weeks. This cosmetic intervention is very effective for keloids and scars.

The cleaning method also has a serious drawback - deep exposure exposes the skin, which increases the risk of infected wounds. Therefore, during the rehabilitation period it is necessary to use antibacterial ointments and avoid ultraviolet radiation.

Microdermabrasion with diamonds is a modern way to quickly, efficiently and almost painlessly improve your complexion, remove facial wrinkles, small scars, acne and age spots. The recovery period is short. Correction of the epidermis immediately gives a positive result.

When comparing both cosmetic procedures, we can conclude that diamond cleansing is a superficial stage of skin regeneration, used as an initial remedy. Dermabrasion is a stressful deep cleansing for the dermis, requires long-term observation and treatment, therefore it is used only for medical reasons.

Prices for diamond peeling in Moscow

It will probably not come as a surprise that the cost of peeling using diamond chips is quite high. In the capital, the cost of one facial resurfacing procedure averages 2,200 rubles, neck - 1,900 rubles, décolleté - 2,500 rubles. A number of salons offer comprehensive peeling of the above areas at an approximate price of 5,300 rubles.

A cosmetic device with diamond chips is also used on other parts of the body to give the skin smoothness, softness and elasticity, and reduce the visibility of stretch marks or signs of cellulite. But the cost of peeling for a particular area of the body will naturally vary. Thus, peeling with diamond chips of the hands and forearms will cost an average of 3,000 rubles, the skin of the abdomen to polish off stretch marks - 4,000 rubles, the hips (front and back) - 6,000 rubles, the legs - 3,000 rubles, the buttocks - 4,000 rubles. It is also planned to treat several areas of the body at once, which allows for some overall savings.

The most popular salons in Moscow providing professional diamond peeling services are Milan, Caramel, Asteri Aesthetic, Santarini, Primavera. Salons regularly hold promotions in order to attract even more clients, so if you decide to go for diamond peeling for the first time, then it makes sense to follow the news of these beauty establishments. In addition, it is very profitable and practical to purchase online discount coupons, which can provide a discount of up to 80% on the procedure.

Diamond peeling is certainly a luxurious, beautiful and, to some extent, high-status way to eliminate small and medium-sized skin defects, improve complexion and even look a little younger. But if there are serious cosmetic imperfections of the skin, then it is recommended to use other types of peelings and other beauty procedures, and the cost will be approximately the same.

Indications and contraindications

Microdermabrasion sessions are best performed after 25 years. It is at this age that women experience the first signs of skin aging.

Indications for use of diamond facial cleansing:

  1. Elimination of minor stretch marks and defective surface changes (scars, scars).
  2. Signs of irritation, acne, increased greasiness of the epidermis.
  3. Oily or dry skin.
  4. Freckles, acne, pigmentation, ingrown facial hair.
  5. Age-related changes – flabbiness and fading.

Cleaning problem areas is done to reduce severe greasiness, cleanse pores, smooth the surface and remove impurities. In case of increased dryness of the epidermis, the procedure is preparatory in nature - the session is used as an auxiliary session before the main manipulations to normalize hydration and nutrition.

The diamond cutting process does not treat excess skin pigmentation. However, the procedure can accelerate the spontaneous disappearance of natural defects by renewing the upper layers of the epidermis.

Contraindications are:

  1. Fresh wounds, abrasions or inflammatory lesions.
  2. Fungal infections.
  3. Cuperosis.
  4. Sunburn of the surface.
  5. Hyperkeratosis.
  6. Active stage infectious or viral disease.
  7. Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
  8. Diabetes mellitus of any degree.
  9. Active manifestations of allergies.
  10. The period of menstruation and the first time after it.
  11. Bronchial asthma.
  12. History of epilepsy.
  13. Oncological and cardiovascular pathologies.

Some contraindications are temporary. A diamond session can be performed after eliminating these deficiencies and a complete cosmetic examination of the skin.

For patients over 40 years of age, there are restrictions on the use of this type of peeling. For example, due to age-related changes, frequent sessions are contraindicated due to the risk of developing infectious inflammation. At this age, the skin needs more significant cleansing, since microdermabrasion does not affect the deeper layers of the epidermis.

Contraindications to diamond peeling

At first glance, it may seem that diamond peeling solves all major cosmetic problems and is a kind of panacea for cosmetology. However, even such a soft, beautiful and gentle method has its own range of contraindications, which include:

  • any skin diseases (dermatitis, eczema, herpes, etc.);
  • damage to the skin (wounds, abrasions, burns, etc.);
  • diabetes;
  • inflammatory or autoimmune diseases;
  • pregnancy and lactation period;
  • increased skin pigmentation;

However, the number of contraindications is small. In addition, skin diseases are easily cured nowadays, and traces of wounds and sores can be very successfully polished with diamond dust.

Expected Result

Diamond peeling perfectly removes pigmentation, cleans and tightens pores, and also normalizes the functioning of the sebaceous glands. After the session, the result is noticeable from the first day - the surface of the epidermis brightens, wrinkles and folds are smoothed out, the skin acquires an even and beautiful shade.

The expected effect depends on the initial condition and skin type. Immediately after the procedure, the skin will become noticeably smoother. The result lasts up to 3 months.

The more aggressive the treatment, the better the results. The degree of aggressiveness will depend on the condition of your skin and the goals you set for yourself. The standard number of procedures varies from 5 to 15 times. For example, to remove pronounced unevenness of the epidermal layer, up to 20 resurfacing sessions are necessary, and in the treatment of cellulite, 6 procedures will be sufficient. You can completely get rid of stretch marks in 12-15 cleanings, and you can smooth out facial wrinkles and folds in literally 2-3 sessions.

For medical reasons, the intervals between diamond grinding processes should not be less than two weeks. Time is necessary for the complete restoration of the surface epidermis, normalization of tone and a real assessment of the effectiveness of cleansing.

Opinion of cosmetologists

Diamond resurfacing of the face helps maintain the health of the dermis, prevents the appearance of wrinkles and inflammation.

Some people perform peeling on their own, but home devices cannot completely solve the problem.

Selection of peeling creams

Diamond resurfacing of the face, reviews of which indicate its effectiveness, is a non-invasive method of mechanical cleansing of the epidermal layer. For better exfoliation of the stratum corneum and stimulation of cellular renewal, special creams with a special component composition are used for procedures. To achieve an aesthetic result, the cream is selected strictly for your skin type.

The peeling formula may include:

  • acids - fruit, lactic, ascorbic, carbolic or salicylic;
  • various polymers, fragrances, resocin;
  • fine-grained abrasive made from sea salt, almond seeds, apricots, berries;
  • complex of natural oils, proteins, hyaluronate,
  • cocktail of plant extracts, algae;
  • complex of amino acids, minerals, antioxidants.

The formula of professional peeling products is designed in such a way that, simultaneously with cleansing the upper epidermal layer, it provides fortification of tissues and cells. The main selection criterion is the type of product and the depth of exposure, so as not to injure the skin during the peeling process.

For example, for thin skin prone to dryness, cosmetologists recommend choosing products with softer abrasive particles so as not to cause harm. The ratio of peeling cream components is also selected taking into account the properties.

For sensitive types, gommage cream is best suited, which includes microparticles of the smallest size. During the procedure, the product is applied in a thin layer, and then rolled off using a massage method, eliminating the stratum corneum and impurities.
Gommage provides an eraser effect without injuring the skin, but thoroughly cleansing it. In accordance with age, when choosing, it is important to follow the recommendations:

  • The use of peelings is permissible from 15 years of age. The task of products with a soft formula is to cleanse the skin of excess fat and dead particles.
  • For young skin (up to 25 years of age), peeling products with glycolic acid are suitable for painless cleansing, toning and slowing down aging.
  • After 30 years, it is recommended to use peeling products with fruit acid to eliminate the first signs of aging and pigmentation.
  • After 40 years, you can begin peeling procedures with products containing a concentrate of active acids. The formula of the products allows you to get rid of age-related wrinkles, improve complexion, and activate protein metabolism.
  • After 50 years, wrinkle formation, hyperpigmentation, and sagging are observed. The use of deep peelings allows you to eliminate negative changes, prevent aging and even out the relief.

When choosing a peeling cream, it is important to give preference to professional brands and study the composition to understand whether the product can help solve a particular cosmetic problem.

Possible complications

The effectiveness of the cleaning largely depends on the professionalism of the cosmetologist. For example, excessive pressure on the skin or the wrong choice of nozzle provokes the occurrence of spider veins, small abrasions and hyperemia.

When the patient takes vasodilators, inflammatory complications may develop during diamond resurfacing - hyperpigmentation, bruising, herpes rashes. In these cases, it is more advisable to wait until the end of the course of conservative therapy.

Possible side effects, consequences and complications

The procedure is a very gentle version of microdermabrasion, so side effects are kept to a minimum. It can be:

  • redness in the area of cleaning, easily eliminated with special products that should be recommended by a cosmetologist,
  • peeling of the skin - possible with quite strong grinding and drying of the skin,
  • microcracks - can be the result of incorrectly selected attachments or excessive force,
  • slight swelling - extremely rare, but can occur with deeper peeling than necessary,
  • pigmentation - can occur due to poor skin care and exposure to unprotected skin in the sun,
  • skin irritation - can occur when using alcohol- or acid-containing cosmetics, sweating, allergies.

Complications of the procedure, especially if contraindications or cleaning techniques are not followed, may include:

  • pain with a low pain threshold or cleaning during menstruation or in the period 5 days before and 5 days after,
  • spread of pustular infection over the entire surface of the impact if even one or two pustules are present during cleaning,
  • increased herpetic eruptions due to decreased skin immunity,
  • enlargement of spider veins, subcutaneous hemorrhages, with vascular pathologies,
  • heart or epileptic attack, jump in blood pressure, suffocation - possible if the doctor ignores the stage of questioning and identifying contraindications,
  • hyperkeratosis, or the growth of keratinized skin - with the wrong choice of abrasive attachment,
  • spread of vitiligo,
  • keloid growth.

Preparation and carrying out peeling

Leading experts recommend that you undergo a cosmetic examination before a diamond cleaning session. The specialist will determine your skin type and select the correct level of impact of the attachments.

Preparation and implementation of the procedure are standard. There are three main stages of a cosmetologist’s work.

  1. Preparatory activities, the quality of which determines the effectiveness of peeling. To open the pores, the skin is steamed and cleansed before micro-resurfacing. At home, a compress made from a towel soaked in hot water is ideal for this purpose.
  2. The specialist treats the surface with circular movements of the selected nozzles. Depending on the relief and sensitivity of the skin area, different devices are selected. Every centimeter undergoes careful and thorough processing with varying degrees of pressure.
  3. Final steps. The cosmetologist applies a soothing mask to relieve possible irritations, then lubricates the treated skin with a moisturizing composition.

The diamond facial cleansing process takes about 30-40 minutes. Cleansing other areas of the body is completed in an hour.

During the session, dead cells and dirt are sucked by a vacuum air stream into a special reservoir. This prevents particles from entering the lungs of the cosmetologist and the patient when breathing.

Laser combined with radiofrequency therapy

Radiofrequency therapy, which uses lower temperatures than laser and targets the dermal tissue, has become a popular and effective way to reduce wrinkles and tighten the skin. The radio wave pulse acts selectively and heats the necessary areas of the skin, causing an immediate reduction of existing collagen fibers and the production of new ones. Radiofrequency therapy is also used to treat acne scars, keloid scars, rosacea and acne. Since the effect of radio waves does not depend on the type of chromophores, radio frequency therapy is suitable for all skin types.

Recently, combination therapy devices using ablative lasers and radio waves have begun to appear. For example, one study describes the results of treatment of traumatic and post-acne scars using the SmartXide2 DOT+RF device, which provides simultaneous action of a CO2 laser and radio frequencies. Patients underwent 2 procedures on SmartXide2 DOT+RF with an interval of a month. Significant improvements were noted after the last procedure in 73.3% of patients, 12 months after it – in 100%.

Price

Typically, one microdermabrasion session costs from 3,000 to 5,000 rubles.

Skin care after diamond peeling

After grinding, it is recommended to follow a few simple rules for the rehabilitation period:

  • reduce exposure to the sun, use of a solarium or sunbathing on the beach to a minimum;
  • Wear sunglasses outdoors throughout the year (this precaution is required during a diamond peeling course);
  • in order to avoid possible infection of open pores, for the first ten days, avoid visiting baths, saunas, and swimming pools;
  • you cannot engage in physical activity - increased sweating provokes irritation;
  • For two weeks after the procedure, do not use alcohol-based cosmetics or decorative cosmetics - this can dry out the surface of the epidermis.

After cleansing, together with a cosmetologist, you need to select special skin care products - nutrients and lotions that stimulate the full restoration of the skin.

According to experts themselves, grinding the face with diamonds dries out the epidermis, thickening its surface. Therefore, the cosmetologist prescribes subsequent skin treatment with moisturizing serums and softening creams.

Effect

  • Microdermabrasion promotes deep cleansing of the face, complete removal of dead skin particles, so that the skin begins to breathe freely and the cells are filled with oxygen. Diamond peeling deeply cleanses the skin
  • During the procedure, a vacuum facial massage is performed simultaneously with cleansing.
  • Local blood circulation is activated.
  • Metabolic processes are restored.
  • The production of collagen and elastin is stimulated.
  • The condition of connective tissues improves, which has a direct impact on regeneration processes.
  • Shallow scars and wrinkles disappear.
  • Pigment spots become less noticeable or are completely eliminated.
  • Damaged areas of the skin are restored.
  • The skin of the face is softened and moisturized.
  • Enlarged pores become smaller...
  • There is a complete renewal and deep regeneration of the skin.

The effectiveness of diamond facial cleansing can be judged based on photographs of patients taken before and after the procedure.

Is it possible to carry out the procedure at home?

To cleanse your face at home, you need to purchase a Diamond Peeling Gezatone device. The kit includes the device itself, three attachments with different degrees of grain (for all skin types) and three vacuum tanks of different diameters. The device is equipped with a convenient power control system, as well as a timer, which allows you to independently set the time and gentle grinding cycle.

Processing is carried out in stages:

  1. Cheeks and chin - from the center to the side area.
  2. Lips - from the center to the corners.
  3. Forehead - horizontal movements from bottom to top.
  4. Nose – from the back to the wings.
  5. Eyes - from the outer corner and ear along the lower eyelid to the inner corner. Then from the inner corner to the upper eyelid and to the temple.

During a home peeling procedure, the skin of the eyelids should not be touched.

After cleaning, the treated areas should be lubricated with a soothing and nourishing cream.

What is diamond grinding

Diamond dermabrasion is one of the effective methods of mechanical peeling. The essence of the technique is to superficially cleanse the epidermis to activate natural skin renewal processes. Peeling is carried out using a special vacuum apparatus.

The method is micropolishing of the surface layer of the epidermis using maniples - a set of coated diamond heads, which differ in diameter and degree of granularity, in order to correct various skin imperfections, even out the relief, and trigger the regeneration of cells and tissues.

The principle of cosmetic diamond dermabrasion is to polish an uneven surface; instead of abrasive compounds, diamond crystals specially processed by a laser are used. The technique allows you to act evenly on the skin, exfoliating its upper layers and without leaving behind mechanical damage in the form of wounds or scratches.

By individually selecting the rotation speed and intensity of the diamond attachment, the skin is micro-polished to perfect smoothness. The method combines simultaneously 2 principles of influence - vacuum massage and peeling.

As a result, this technology allows you to achieve the following aesthetic effects:

  • eliminate uneven terrain - wrinkles, creases, small scars, scars and acne marks;
  • deeply cleanse the epidermis of impurities and dead cells;
  • start regeneration processes, the mechanism of cell division in the epidermal layers;
  • stimulate local blood circulation for increased flow of oxygen and nutrients;
  • stimulate the synthesis of collagen and elastin for natural rejuvenation;
  • even out skin tone, eliminate hyperpigmentation.

Thanks to double exposure, a course of diamond dermabrasion procedures allows you to cleanse the skin, even out the relief and eliminate various defects, as well as restore tone and achieve rejuvenation results through vacuum massage.

Lyudmila, 40 years old:

I wear glasses and often squint. With age, wrinkles in the eye area have become very noticeable. I did a diamond peeling. The procedure is expensive, but I really liked it. Wrinkles and facial folds near the mouth have disappeared, the number of freckles and age spots on the face has noticeably decreased, and the skin has become smooth and youthful.

Reviews

“I recently completed a diamond grinding course. I am very pleased with the result. I compare my photos before and after cleaning - this is heaven and earth. No wrinkles, sagging. The face became younger, the skin became elastic, firm, and blush appeared. I also want to sign up for body peeling: my cosmetologist says this procedure will help get rid of stretch marks after childbirth” - Ekaterina, 37 years old.

“I have been performing various facial cleansings regularly since I was 20 years old. I tried everything possible, but I can confidently say: diamond peeling is the ideal option. It is suitable for all women, regardless of what kind of skin they have and what problems need to be solved. Despite the gentleness of the effect, the procedure gives excellent results. It was thanks to cleaning with diamond dust that I got rid of pigmentation and scars. True, I had to tinker a little: the scars disappeared only after two courses of 10 sessions. But no plastic surgery was required. An additional bonus: the skin became tightened and fresh” - Marina, 30 years old.

“This procedure was recommended to me by a friend who, thanks to it, dealt with oily skin and blackheads. I had similar problems, and my facial skin became saggy after I went on a diet and lost 15 kilograms. After 5 sessions of diamond peeling, I began to notice the first results. Black spots and wrinkles have disappeared, skin tone has noticeably increased, and the oval of the face has become clearer. In general, I look 10 years younger. Of course, the prices are a little steep, but the results are excellent” - Alena, 38 years old.

Diamond facial peeling process. How to care for your skin after the procedure?

The diamond peeling procedure takes place in several stages. First, the facial skin is prepared by vaporization (steaming) and applying a moisturizer. This is necessary so that the skin becomes more susceptible to external influences and, therefore, the peeling effect is maximized.
Next comes the peeling itself. Attachments with brushes coated with special diamonds rotate around their own axis, gently cleanse the skin, eliminate peeling and pore contamination, even the slightest. On average, a cosmetologist has a dozen attachments for a diamond procedure machine in his arsenal. During the process, the nozzles are changed several times and even hard-to-reach areas that require especially careful handling are treated, for example, near the ears.

The final stage of the procedure is applying a nourishing and moisturizing mask to the face. After polishing, the skin has increased permeability, so the active components of the mask will give maximum effect. The entire diamond peeling procedure takes about 40 minutes.

Skin thoroughly cleaned in a professional environment requires special care. For a couple of days after peeling, there may be slight redness of the face, but usually no unpleasant sensations are noted.

On the advice of a cosmetologist, it is possible to select the most optimal facial products after peeling - washing gels, moisturizing lotions, creams. It is also important to take precautions, which include:

  • systematic use of cosmetics with a moisturizing effect;
  • avoiding prolonged exposure to sunlight or cold or strong winds;
  • use of sunscreens;
  • refusal to visit saunas, baths and fitness clubs during the recovery period (1-1.5 weeks);
  • use decorative cosmetics to a minimum, avoid foundation.
