Good threads are a great thing, but thread lifting must be taken seriously. The placement of the threads for the first time is a bit of an exciting procedure, but usually painless and not difficult. But rehabilitation after lifting can be a very unpleasant surprise.
Rehabilitation after threads involves 2 moments: 1. when restrictions on the usual lifestyle end 2. when normal appearance returns
There will be an article about restrictions another time, for now we’ll see what happens to the second point.
What can our appearance suffer from after a thread lift? The first thing that can spoil our appearance is bruises and swelling.
How long does rehabilitation take?
The procedure involves making punctures on the face and implanting foreign objects into the subcutaneous layer.
For skin tightening, preference is given to the most inconspicuous areas on the face:
- neck fold;
- bottom of the chin;
- ear area;
- the border of the hairline.
Rehabilitation after thread lifting is quite long and difficult. On average, it will take 3 weeks. In some cases - more than a month.
Recovery, as with any surgical intervention, takes place in several stages:
- Minor facial disturbances (due to anesthesia) disappear a few hours after the session.
- Severe swelling and bruising at the puncture sites disappear within 3 days.
- Local skin irregularities and further swelling resolve at a slow pace, taking approximately 14 days.
- For the final regeneration of tissue on the face, during which all irregularities are smoothed out and the positive effect of the tightening can already be seen, it should take about a month.
Description of liquid mesothreads
Liquid mesothread contains active ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, zinc chloride and phosphate buffer. This combination of substances guarantees not only a visible anti-aging effect, but also restoration of water balance in tissues, as well as an antiseptic effect. At the same time, liquid mesothreads work in the deep layers of the skin, triggering the formation of fibroblasts in the cells. Due to the active production of collagen, the skin becomes much denser and more elastic.
A facelift with liquid mesothreads does not imply mechanical tension on the skin; the lifting effect is ensured by the formation of a natural framework of connective tissue. Anti-aging effects are observed in several directions at once. Firstly, the deepest layers of the dermis are moisturized, secondly, the complexion becomes uniform, and thirdly, the surface of the skin is evened out.

Recommendations by day
After thread lifting, in order to speed up the process of tissue restoration and avoid possible complications, you need to properly care for the skin.
First 3 days
During the first three days you need to walk in a compression bandage.
It is necessary to follow a home regime. Physical activity is minimal. It is important to control the facial muscles (do not use facial expressions).
The optimal position during this period is reclining; you can silently read a book, draw, watch TV shows or movies (without showing emotions!). When sleeping, you should lie on your back.
Forbidden:
- touch the face;
- wash;
- apply creams and ointments (in addition to those prescribed by your doctor).
Food and drinks should be warm (not hot!). It is better that the food is soft or liquid - this way the minimum amount of muscles will be involved when chewing. When drinking liquid, it is recommended to use a straw or sippy cup.
Buyanov Sergey Yurievich (Expert Doctor):
It is also undesirable to eat food with spicy seasonings and bitter drinks. As a result, involuntary muscle contraction occurs. Sometimes it is enough to wince once to reduce the effect of the procedure.
You will have to give up alcohol and cigarettes.
4-7 days
While at home, you should continue to wear the compression bandage, even while sleeping.
If necessary, you can go outside for a while. But in the sunny season, you should definitely use a wide-brimmed hat or Panama hat.
It is still prohibited:
- consume hot food and drinks;
- be exposed to direct sunlight;
- visit the solarium and sauna;
- touching the face and using cosmetics;
- play sports (you need to exclude any physical activity, including intimate life).
If swelling is significantly reduced, washing with warm boiled water and a clean cotton pad using gentle, gentle blotting movements is allowed.
8-14 days
You are allowed to eat your usual food at any temperature.
You can include walking in your daily routine. It is better when solar activity is insignificant.
At this stage it is prohibited:
- visit the bathhouse, sauna, beach and solarium;
- Do massage;
- apply makeup;
- exercise.
Facial expressions must also be controlled.
You can wash your face more confidently with warm water and a cotton pad. However, it is forbidden to rub or squeeze the skin after a recent lifting.
When resting, you can lie down on your side; you can’t lie face down on a pillow yet.
15-30 days
By this period, the patient returns to his usual daily routine: he gradually returns to facial activity, is allowed to sleep in any position, and wash his face in the morning and evening.
After performing a morning or evening toilet, you need to carefully pat your skin with a soft, clean towel (preferably a disposable one). You can start work if there is no physical activity while doing it.
Important! Sauna, bathhouse and solarium, sports, and exposure to the sun are still prohibited.
Only a full 30 days after the procedure, if the doctor allows, can you forget about all restrictions.
Stages of the procedure
The procedure for installing liquid mesothreads is carried out using local anesthesia. Since the manipulations are low-traumatic and fairly painless, this is enough to ensure the patient’s comfort.
It is very important to choose the right anesthetic. Since fibrotic changes in tissues are usually accompanied by an inflammatory process, the development of pathogenic microflora in the dermis is possible.
The occurrence of edema and hematomas is also possible. Therefore, an incorrectly selected drug for local anesthesia and an incorrect dosage can increase the negative consequences of the procedure and adverse reactions.
It is important to objectively assess the condition of the patient’s skin and select the exact amount of biogel intended for administration. It is possible to adjust the dose of anesthetic during the rejuvenation procedure itself.
Installation of liquid mesothreads is permitted only in a cosmetology salon or clinic. The patient is placed on a chair reclining. The procedure takes no more than 1.5–2 hours. The composition of the biogel is selected individually.
For example, thick biogel with a high zinc content is not suitable for thin skin. The drug is injected to a certain depth in order to involve all layers of the dermis.
Stages of the lifting procedure with liquid mesothreads:
- Cleansing the skin of makeup and impurities with special products.
- Disinfection and degreasing of skin.
- Determining puncture points and marking with a special marker.
- Introduction of anesthetic.
- Introducing liquid mesothreads into targeted points using a medical cannula.
The procedure is quite painless, injection marks disappear within two days.
Typically, biogel is injected into the following areas:
- nasolabial folds;
- area around the eyes;
- cheekbones;
- forehead;
- chin;
- cheeks.
No more than 3 ml of biogel is administered per procedure. Typically, 0.1–0.2 ml of mesococktail is distributed into each puncture. At least two weeks should pass between rejuvenation sessions.
What not to do after installing threads
To successfully restore the condition of the tissues after a thread lift, you need to comply with some requirements.
- Avoid exposure to high temperatures. During the week, it is forbidden to take a hot shower, as this will enlarge the pores on your face. In addition, you will have to exclude hot food and drinks from your diet, refuse to visit saunas, baths, the beach, etc. All this can cause swelling on the face, which is why recovery will be long and painful.
- Prevent the possibility of your face coming into contact with any surface, incl. do not use cosmetics. (wash your face very carefully!). Firstly, you can get an infection. Secondly, under mechanical influence, cosmetic threads can shift, which will cause facial asymmetry.
- You will have to give up any cosmetic procedures and massages.
- It is necessary to limit physical and facial activity, as additional stress has a negative effect on the resorption of swelling and tissue renewal.
- During the recovery period, sleeping is only allowed on your back.
Side effects
Not every woman develops a negative reaction after a thread lift, and it goes away quite quickly. It is better to become familiar with any possible difficulties and consider your own actions ahead of time.
Among the possible side effects, several are worth noting.
Disorder of facial functions is a reaction to the influence of anesthetics used during the procedure. It usually disappears within 2-3 hours. Some clients experienced problems with facial expressions for 3-4 days - until the swelling caused by the tightening of the skin on the face finally subsided, since under the influence of the swelling itself the activity of movement of the facial muscles is also hampered.
Minor wrinkle effect in the correction area. The skin adapts to the new position after the introduction of threads that lift the face. within 14 days, all folds most often disappear without outside intervention.
Development of overcorrection - a feeling of “tightness” can also appear as a result of swelling during the first days after the lift. When the swelling subsides, the “tight” appearance of the face will disappear.
Hematomas and minor bruises - appear when small vessels are disrupted during circular lifting, which certainly happens even if the incisions are applied very carefully.
After a few days, this phenomenon goes away on its own and leaves no traces.
Indications for use
Indications for the procedure for installing liquid mesothreads are sagging skin and decreased tone of facial muscles. The introduction of biogel provides a visible anti-aging effect, eliminating aesthetic and dermatological skin imperfections. The basis of the drug is highly purified hyaluronic acid and zinc chloride.
Problems that the introduction of liquid mesothreads helps to solve:
- decreased firmness and elasticity of the skin caused by natural aging processes or due to the structural features of the face;
- the formation of excess fatty tissue in the chin, cheeks and wings of the nose;
- sagging skin;
- pronounced numerous wrinkles on the forehead;
- bags, bruises and wrinkles around the eyes;
- wrinkles in the area of the nasolabial triangle;
- dry skin;
- the presence of pigment spots;
- excessive oily skin;
- scars, scars, post-acne;
- loss of clarity of the contours of the oval of the face.
Depending on what specific aesthetic problem needs to be solved, the composition of the biogel is selected. Also, the individual physiological characteristics of the patient and the body’s reaction to one or another component must be taken into account.
Reviews from patients about liquid mesothreads, as well as photos before and after the procedure, prove the high effectiveness of this method in combating the aging process.
The introduction of biogel is often prescribed during the recovery period after plastic surgery, laser facial resurfacing, Botox injections, etc. Due to the fact that the process of fibrillar protein synthesis is activated, the amount of connective tissue increases, so wrinkles are smoothed out and the skin becomes more elastic.
Complications
The development of complications most often occurs when recommendations are not followed after a thread lift or due to the negative impact of the threads themselves.
- Disturbances in facial lines due to nerve compression or injury. In such a situation, the threads are removed.
- If an infection occurs, a course of antibiotic therapy and antiseptic treatment is indicated. If an abscess develops, the threads must be removed.
- Damage to facial contours is observed when facial tissues are severely tightened. A massage will help deal with it.
- Movement of the thread, a clear trace of the insertion and removal of the thread. A complication occurs if the procedure technology has been violated. To eliminate this, the skin is peeled off.
- When tissue is retracted, the cosmetologist peels off the skin in the problem area; restoration of microcirculation is required.
Sometimes the consequences after a thread lift are pathological, which is why it is not always possible to stop them. Occasionally, a cosmetologist has to resort to additional correction.
Allergies can be triggered by a painkiller or other drug used during the procedure. If the body rejects the threads, an additional operation is performed to remove them.
Buyanov Sergey Yurievich (Expert Doctor):
Removing threads is no more difficult than installing them. There is no need to be afraid of additional intervention - in other cases, removal solves the problem of complications and even leads to an improvement in the cosmetic effect of the procedure.
Preparation for the procedure
During a face-to-face consultation, a cosmetologist should examine the patient and ask her about the presence of chronic diseases and contraindications. No special preparation measures are required for the procedure.
Before introducing biogel, standard tests are usually prescribed:
- blood for biochemistry;
- coagulogram;
- allergy tests;
- general urine analysis.
Before installing liquid mesothreads, it is necessary to donate blood for the presence of HIV, hepatitis B and C, and for the level of tumor markers. For a month before the procedure, you should not take antibacterial drugs, perform hormonal therapy, or use any other drugs that affect blood clotting.
The introduction of biogel does not require the patient to follow a specific diet. It is recommended to give up alcohol and smoking only a week before the procedure.
This is due to the fact that nicotine negatively affects the state of the respiratory system, and alcohol creates an increased load on the heart, blood vessels and causes intoxication of the body.
Before the procedure, you should also not overuse natural and artificial tanning. This may result in less pronounced results from the effects of biogel.
Before introducing mesothreads, you should not do other cosmetic manipulations that lead to disruption of the integrity of the skin. The cosmetologist may suggest that you undergo additional diagnostic tests if necessary.
Opinion of cosmetologists
Experts speak positively about the lifting procedure, but warn about a difficult and rather long rehabilitation period. Before deciding to undergo a thread lift, you need to consider all the pros and cons, and also consult with an experienced specialist.
